What's next?
departure imminent
Although the isolation due to the warp storm had distorted reality's time, speeding it up planet-side, Nimrod still prepared and researched Imperial tech as his hordes grew. Generations went by in a matter of months for the outside galaxy, and the worship his hordes created was equivalent to several hive worlds, entire sectors worth. The Genestealers practically piled themselves up into mountains, and the world stank of each god's corruption. Only Isha's followers maintained their humanity, despite the tragedies going on, becoming Nimrod's strength and stability in this chaotic mess.
Soon, Nimrod would be free of these annoyances; Nimrod was so confident in his escape plan that he allowed the cultists to degenerate and prepare massive Chaos rituals. Khorne's followers butchered tens of millions a day, Nurgle's men drowned in such corruption that THEY became the parasites to Warp spawn, Tzeentch's forces were pulling this world apart to weave complex psychic strongholds and idols to boost their power, and Slaanesh was creating fogs of hedonism that followed lecherous minds. Each of them were just chaotically harming the world, but their gods had greater goals; their gods used these worshippers to slowly worm their way into corrupting Nimrod, whose gifts of Warp energy were made from Chaos energy to Nimrod's own energy.
- Khorne was creating a blood orgy so spectacular that he could create eight super daemon princes, with enough of his own energy to dispel the other gods and drive Nimrod into madness, becoming the lord of these eight as Nimrod leads them to conquer the world under Khorne. Khorne supports or secretly aids countless warriors, sparking competition and hard-fought bloodshed that only sparks further advancement to Khorne's objective. Khorne's plan has gotten to such a point that all eight roles have been filled, but Khorne uses these positions as replaceable pawns, allowing mere mortals and teams or armies to overcome these 8 champions. Soon, Khorne will have his eight true daemon princes of this world, and once he does, the advancement of blood and battle will have reached a point where he can truly break the world in his hand.
- Nurgle took offence with Nimrod's claims of Nurgle faking his care, respect, and representation of nature through disease and infection. To bend Nimrod to his side, Nurgle decided to challenge himself, transforming his followers of this world into the plagues that hold truest to his core. Thus, these cultists of Nurgle turn into parasites feasting on giant maggots and the mounds of corpses left by Khorne and Nurgle's followers' actions. Some aren't even humanoid, getting such unique mutations that they make their abhuman Chaos breeds seem tame. Stuff like insects making up a person's body or creatures that only consume, leaving no waste, all of which, and more, are human, or at least they were before following Nurgle. Some groups create new breeds based on these mutations, their DNA and reproductive information completely changed by Nurgle's gifts. All of this serves Nurgle's ultimate goal of bringing this world lower and lower so that Nimrod falls into the filth, championing a new path of Nurgle's realm, elevating Nurgle's wife's status to the gods. When the corruption has seeped enough, Nurgle will bring his garden onto this world and drown Nimrod in it, forcing him to live and die and live in this undying decay, breaking Nimrod like all other champions of Nurgle.
- Tzeentch likes a rebellious soul; he likes those who strike out from Tzeentch's grasp with their own ambitions, which makes his plans harder to predict and causes them to fight harder. In the end, all are Tzeentch's pawns because even Ahriman thinks himself free of Tzeentch's control. As a result, Tzeentch prepared the world to weather the storm, sucking in Nimrod and taking him to Tzeentch's realm, where Nimrod shall become Tzeentch's daemon prince, one with a soul. As a backup plan, Tzeentch is also preparing his towers in the floating electric rock zones to secretly break the planet itself, opening countless portals to the Warp as Nimrod resists to the best of his ability.
- Slaanesh is the temptress; she always has been and always will be. Whether it's love, pain, or ecstasy, Slaanesh can give it all and none of it at the same time. Throughout the ages, Slaanesh tried to simply tempt Nimrod with **** and women, but Nimrod was a mindless lecher; Nimrod wanted the most special and best, and he would not settle for less. Still, with all the beauties Slaanesh flashed in front of Nimrod, she expected him to fall eventually, but he held on. So, in annoyance, Slaanesh tried to kill Nimrod, but neither her cult nor the other gods would let her. Nimrod's rules were iron-tight, and he ensured there was always a measure of discipline with each group. Slaanesh then tried to bring in her noise marines and other such groups under her authority, but she was beaten at great cost each time. As a result, Slaanesh became blacklisted, her cults growing distant as Isha replaced Slaanesh because of Isha's healing ability. In response, Slaanesh tried to turn Calista into a Chaos Spawn using Calista's fervent belief in the four + Isha. Calista then began to mutate, her faith and mind becoming a chaotic mess as she charged at Nimrod. Nimrod had spent a long, unspecified time training, but so had Calista, and this mutation only made her deadlier, drawing her closer to her Aberrant roots. Kia'an and several others had to come in to help detain Calista, telling Nimrod he needed to kill to end her misery. Nimrod was heartbroken to hear this, but something told him not to give up faith. So, hugging Calista, Nimrod made a prayer to the Four-Armed Emperor and Tyranid Hive Mind. To the Emperor, Nimrod promised mankind's prosperity against Chaos and Xenos, and to the Tyranid Hive Mind, Nimrod promised two worlds, one made of flesh, and the other filled with it. All Nimrod asked was that these two powers grant Calista control over her form, like how the Tyranid Hive Mind has over biomass, ensuring the Tyranid Hive Mind that Calista would never be a threat to its survival, and that Nimrod wouldn't help the Emperor if Calista died. To either ****, there wasn't a loss, merely giving permissions and a high-risk investment with low costs. It took a moment, but thanks to Calista being a fifth-generation Aberrant, she was intrinsically connected to the Tyranid Hive Mind, no matter how separate her spirit. So, with Calista's consent, Calista was given control over her genetics, fighting against the corruption in a battle of the souls, one where Tzeentch and Slaanesh were happy to bring about further pollution to her form. Isha couldn't help him now; the Pantheon wouldn't allow it; it was all up to Nimrod and Kia'an as they stepped into Calista's soul, her unrestrained genetics unravelling as mutations struck more and more. In every instance of this encounter, Calista's form grew and shrank tremendously, infinitely, causing everyone entering Calista's mind to bow out, except Nimrod. His soul gave him a massive advantage, but it was still a struggle against all these mutations, giving Nimrod no other choice but to make a prayer to the Four-Armed Emperor and Tyranid Hive Mind. Nimrod called upon the Emperor, offering his soul to save Calista, and offering Calista's vessel to become the Tyranid Hive Mind's greatest champion, a champion of the Tyranids that would eclipse warriors such as Old One Eye. Once again, these powers answered, loving the deal as they levitated the two, taking away Calista to become the general of a minor hive tendril soon to emerge into the galaxy. Nimrod saw images of her fate glimpse through his mind, a woman whose form was the same, but it changed depending on her wants and needs, transforming her into different kinds of Tyranids. Calista's second heart became the organ that lets her transform at will, with little strain, and her life was now given to the Tyranid Hive Mind to do with as it wished. However, this wasn't the end of it because Nimrod ensured the Emperor's Four-Armed Emperor faith form protected Calista, keeping her mind free yet connected to the hive mind. As for Nimrod, he was given to the Emperor and was let down, back onto the world to do the Emperor's bidding. What was his first order? To defy Chaos, forcing Nimrod to go against his plans and start a holy war for the planet, pitting him against all the cults and worshippers.
With all the actions of the gods, one would think Nimrod would brave the warp storm or be targeted by the gods, but it was the opposite. Nimrod was loved by the gods, for he now hated the Emperor and this chain around his neck. These cults were instructed to pull back or become martyrs, occupying Nimrod as he was directed to eliminate these new variants of Chaos before they got into the wider galaxy. Nimrod had proved himself incorruptible, but that didn't mean he would stay with such a monster in human flesh. With a little temptation, they believed Nimrod would fall to someone they chose, rather than someone who took them in a moment of weakness.
However, what Chaos and the Emperor didn't know was that Nimrod wasn't done scheming; he could think of a couple of ways to entice certain groups his way. Moreover, Nimrod hadn't given up on Calista, nor was she a damsel in distress; Nimrod made sure of that.
