What's next?
bury yourself under the sand
You read in a survival guide once that burying yourself under the sand is a good way to keep cool. You submerge as much of your body as you can, leaving only enough room to breathe. This can prevent you from getting suburned, and the sand is actually rather cool under the surface.
You try to rest and sleep this way, but it proves extremely uncomfortable and very difficult. You begin to shiver, and notice that these are the signs of heatstroke. Still, you manage to drift off...
... until you're awoken by a terrible noise. Suddenly, everything gets much darker as you try to figure out what's going on.
