After the **** of his family, what was Sam to do? His possibilities were endless with this capital, but what would the point be? If Sam was gonna be anything, he would at least stick to his profession, regardless of the damnation. Because of these reasons, Sam decided to become a tamer.

In this world, a tamer was an undesired class. Unlike other classes, a tamer's ability to control someone was predicated on their will, a mental stat that never increased because it was what everyone had at birth. It was different to someone developing a fighting spirit, maturing, or anything else related to mental levels. In most cases, tamers could only take a couple of decently strong monsters or animals, and intelligence was a serious factor, requiring people to train their monsters so that they didn't have to baby whatever creature they controlled. As for Sam's case, his aptitude for taming was even worse than that of most failures. Sam could tame, at most, 7 weak monsters, nothing better than goblins or diseased monkeys. Even then, there would be a strain on Sam's body; Sam's muscles would feel like they were having a million muscle cramps if he had them do anything other than stop when ordering them at the same time.

Still, given Sam's existing strength, he saw no other alternative to becoming a tamer, going through with the magical engraving process on his skin and putting in the paperwork for seven goblins. Since he could read and was of noble blood, Sam was able to cut expenses in preparing his tamer career, leaving him enough to equip his future goblins with gear.
