before the start of the second exam

John and the other people taking the exam were told to meet outside a giant forest with a fence surrounding before they left after the first exam the day before.

while waiting he saw the Uchiha guy again talking to the guy with the blonde hair he had in the trap the day before. and a girl with pink hair. "I can believe that you fell easily into a trap Naruto. but Sakura you as well. it looks like I'm going to be the one carrying the team through this exam. the Uchiha guy said.

next John saw the two members from the grass Village that talked about him the day before talking with there third teammate "we should go right after the guy from the mist village first if we end up having to fight in the next exam" the guy from the grass village said. "yeah then we'll be the most feared team in the exam. what do you think Karin?" the girl from the grass village asked. "I think we should let him be he has to be stronger and smarter than us to be able to be a part of the exam without teammates," Karin said looking right at John

"Alright, listen up, you sorry brats!", a loud voice called and the attention was drawn to the figure standing on top of a stall next to the gate that led into the forest. Like yesterday, she seemed to be in a rather cheerful mood. "THIS! Is the Forest of ****!", she explained with a grand gesture towards the obvious forest behind her. she announced and held two scrolls aloft. "These two scrolls are called 'Earth scroll' and 'Heaven scroll', respectively. You will start off with one of them, and you'll have to find the other one before you come to the tower in the center of the forest. The time limit is 72 hours to do that!", she said loudly.

"In other words, only half of the teams can advance to the next round?", Sakura asked loudly, getting proctors attention.

The proctor nodded. "Yup, that's right. But usually, it's far less than that. Other than your opponents, the forest isn't called the 'Forest of ****' for nothing.", she reminded the young Genin with her still unnervingly cheery voice. She scratched her head a moment in contemplation. "Anything I forgot? Oh yeah. Folks, you MUST NOT look into the scroll before you enter the tower. If you open the scroll before you're inside that building, you'll automatically be disqualified. In a pretty uncomfortable manner, if I might add.". she waited to see if anyone said anything before saying "Good good, now each team comes here and signs up. You'll be given a scroll and each team will be led to their entrance.", she finished her explanation and jumped down from the stall.

Slowly, the teams moved forward to register and receive their scroll, before being led away by the staff that stood ready there. Sometime later, it was John turn. After signing his name, he drew a number and was handed a scroll. he got an Earth Scroll. The number corresponded to the gate where he would be entering the forest.

John looks at the number of the gate he was standing in front of now. Yup, this would be his starting point. A small clock over the entrance showed the countdown until the gate opened. Only five minutes, and then the second stage of the exam would begin.

when the doors to the Forest of **** swung open John leaped into the forest. within fifty minutes he ran into a team from the sand village "well looks like we are going to get another Scroll" a male sand ninja said. "yeah let's finish this quick and show those three siblings who is the better team in the sand village. now that the other team no longer has their best member. now that he is gone" another male sand ninja said. John thought to himself "I don't know why but man those two annoy me"

the two sand ninjas charged at once. when they got close John used Earth Release: Earth Wave Technique to send the two guy flying in the air and knocking them out when they hit the ground. John knew that there is a third member of the team and had a feeling the person was hiding in the trees so John used Blade of Wind to cut down the trees around him making the third sand team member to fall to the ground

the third member looked up at John "how do you know that Jutsu only two people know how to use it. unless you're-"the last sand member said before John knocked her out. the girl was the one with the two scrolls one earth and one Hevan scroll. John took both of them.

John was about five minutes away from the tower when he heard someone scream "SOMEONE HELP ME, PLEASE" John knew it was from the Karin girl on the grass team. John knew it could be a trap but against his better judgment, he went to go help her.

when John arrived he saw Karin huddled up next to a tree with a bear right in front of her getting ready to attack. John jumped down between the bear and Karin. and looked the bear right in the eyes before whit out knowing he activating his Sharingan and using Genjutsu to stop the bear from attacking.

the bear walked away leaving John and Karin alone. John turned around and looked at Karin. "you're safe now" John Said as he held his hand out to help her get back up.

she took his hand "yeah I'm okay but my teammates got eaten by the bear. if you didn't show up and stop the bear I would have been next. how did you stop that bear anyways" Karin asked

"I'm sorry about your Teammates. and I don't know all I did was look the bear right in the eyes and then it backed off. so are you going to continue the exam or dropout" John asked

"I want to keep going but I don't know if I can without my teammates. and we didn't have the Earth scroll that we needed to go to the tower" Karin said showing she had the Hevan Scroll.

"well you're in luck I have an extra Earth scroll" John said holding up the extra scroll he had. "and I think they should let you continue on with the exam alone if they allowed me to be in it without any teammates. he added before throwing Karin the scroll.

"Maybe they will. and thanks for helping me" she said with a smile. "okay now let us get to the tower" John said walking away
