At dawn, Ambriel exercises for a while and pray to attempt a connection with the clouds, maybe there could be newscast
the silvery light of the heavens answer once more, coalescing into a bracelet with five small chains that connect a ring each, for her fingers. it seems a magical present from her former comrades again
Ambriel thanks the clouds, and the goes on travel, but she's very intrigued by the meaning of such a gift
whene venturing on, ambriel comes across a small creek that flows into a pool. glowing blossoms surround it and even though it is the middle of the day, over the pool is night, the moon visibly on the dark night sky. something shimmers in the water, something metallic
"the weather in strange here, day and night at the same time.... But i suppose that's okay around here .."
Ambriel gets closer to the metalic thing to identify what it is
a metallic object is laying the shallow water, glimmering in the mooonlight
it looks similar to her scale armor but much smaller
Ambriel looks around if there's an ambush, then takes the armor part out of the water.
it is a veil, made of scales that shimmer, like moonlight. the magical item doesn't give any armor, instead it negates any disadvantage the wearer would have on social checks
"it's somewhat pretty. It gives some social apparence i guess"
Ambriel dry it a little with her smal towel, then she put it on her face
then she walk away with a new prestance.
when she leaves, the time returns to normal and it is day again. ambriel travels some more before she find a nice open spot, a clearing. she takes a short break and rests her feet when someone else enters the clearing
the dwarf looks at her with a wild glow in his eyes
Ambriel feels that wild glow isn't favorable for her. she will talk to him, but he doesn't seems friendly. She hopes he will at least say hello.
the dwarf looks on ambriel with disfavor
"I can sense the taint on you, creature. You have fallen, and must be dealt with!"
"I may have fallen from the clouds, but why are you so adament. Why must I be dealt? And how? wouldn't you let me share my story first?"
"Only vile lies! Why would i believe a word of you. No. There is no redemption, only grudge!"
"you have a lot of anger. And you seem zealot. What happened to you?"
he clenches his weapon
"You hide poison those sweet words, to trick those of a weak heart! No more."
the dwarf charges and tries to slam his hammer into ambriel
Ambriel can't avoid the hammer, and it takes her breath away, she nearly passes out. Luckily her armor did mitigate some damage, but it still hurt.
Ambriel have to admit the strenght of that opponent, so she has to flee. And that starts with a blinding gleam, hoping to gain time
That does takes the dwarf by surprise and Ambriel have the opportunity to get a sprint before ha can react.
Ambriel take the little distance she has gained to cast that new spell "entangle", hoping that will slow down the dwarf enough
the dwarf surprisingly is not getting any ground on her, still on the after effect of the blinding spell
After puting vines on the path, Ambriel runs for escape
ambriel makes good ground on the stout pursuer
ignoring the pain from the hammer's blow, Ambriel doesn't slow down
ambriel escapes the dwarf, scared but wiser on the dangers of the forest
Once out of reach, Ambriel can get her breath under control. That was close. Now she take some time to heal herself, and make a comfortable camp to have a good sleep for the night
making camp, using the heal spell, eat some fruit from what she gathered the day before and stored into the satchel.
the night was restful, and at dawn Ambriel feels well restored
