Zin'qosh's proposal

Once Ivanna picks the last wooden splitter from Twisted's body, she strokes his side gently with her left hand. She takes in a deep breath, slowly letting it out in an attempt to calm herself down before looking at Zin'qosh. "Okay. Let's hear it." Zin'qosh finally aligns her head correctly before snapping it into place. "Mm..." Her eyes focus on Ivanna. "I propose a temporary alliance. We will work together and exchange information until Brynn is dead. Simple enough, right?" Ivanna recoils slightly when Zin'qosh begins extending a hand to her. "Yeah, but how do I know I can trust you?"

Incha takes the last wood splitter out of his exoskeleton before shifting from spider form to his human form, brushing himself off after doing so. By this time, Twisted's continual purring allows him to recover from his small wounds. Zin'qosh smirks at Ivanna. "Look, we have nothing personal against you." She glances at Twisted, moving her extended hand to gently stroke his fur instead. "And we all got screwed over here." Twisted continues to purr, causing Zin'qosh's broken neck to quickly mend while she strokes his fur. Her hand stops for a moment upon noticing the change. "Hmm, it looks like I have this one's approval."

Ivanna looks down slightly. 'I suppose that makes sense. They were double-crossed and attacked to boot.' Her eyes look at Zin'qosh. "What other assurances do I have that you won't just attack me if another contract comes in?" Zin'qosh's hand moves to Twisted's chin, rubbing it gently with the side of her pointer finger. "We would have to accept a request like that before we would become a threat to you." Her eyes glance at the gun on the floor nearby. "Given how this contract turned out, it would be foolish to accept another for the same target, especially if it's from the same employer or known associate of theirs."

Ivanna nods slightly. "That makes sense, but what if it came from a rival employer?" Zin'qosh slowly pulls her hand back before rubbing her neck gently. "Although tempting, we would have to decline." Her eyes glance at Incha, who nods in kind. "It is better to be safe than sorry in this line of work. It is rare to get second chances like this." She tilts her head slightly and sighs. "Just think of it this way, we both want to get back at Brynn. And as an added bonus, you get to recover your girlfriend's body."

Incha clears his throat while glaring at Zin'qosh. She glances at him, then rolls her eyes before looking at Ivanna. "Oh, and this should be obvious, but we're your best chance of getting this done within any reasonable length of time. Trust me. You want our help. Hell, who knows what messed up things they'll do with your girlfriend's corpse in the meantime." Ivanna grumbles to herself, looking down slightly. 'She makes a good point. It doesn't help that I don't even know where to start looking.'

Zin'qosh watches Ivanna carefully. "So," She extends her hand again. "do we have a deal or not?" Ivanna nods slightly, taking Zin'qosh's hand and shakes it gently. "Yeah, we got a deal." Zin'qosh squeezes Ivanna's hand gently. "All right, Incha and I are going to head back to base and look into Brynn and her boss. We'll get a hold of you when we have any information." She glances over at the gun on the floor. "We'll be gone for about a day or so. In the meantime, I suggest you learn how to use that gun."

Ivanna's eyes widen. "Wait, I'm not going with you?" Incha shakes his head while Zin'qosh speaks. "About that... If you come with us, the other mercenaries will attack you on sight. There is bound to be a hefty bounty on your head." Incha takes something out of his pocket and tosses it at Ivanna. Twisted watches it and begins to chew on whatever it was he caught. When Ivanna takes it from him, she notices it that it is a condo key. "Is this what I think it is?" Zin'qosh smirks. "It's our condo's key. It'll be a good place to lie low for a little while."

Twisted lets out a soft trill before nuzzling against Ivanna's stomach. Ivanna nods, gently stroking the top of Twisted's head. "Where is it located?" Incha points his chin to his left. Zin'qosh softly sighs. "What Incha means is that it is in that direction outside this illusion barrier. We'll take you there after we get out of this illusion barrier." About this time, Ziggy uncoils from around her leg and skitters over to Haladavar's corpse. Twisted walks off of Ivanna's lap and joins Ziggy.

Ivanna blinks as she watches that before glancing at Zin'qosh. "Wait, what is an illusion barrier?" Zin'qosh gently touches her own forehead. "Ah, right. You are new to the Abyss. An illusion barrier is a pocket dimension where beings like us can use our abilities without repercussions. If you use your abilities outside of them and are noticed by the regular populous. Um, let's just say it never ends well." Incha nods along during the explanation. "I'll go into more details later, but for now, time is of the essence."

Ivanna nods, slowly standing up before walking over to pick up the gun that she had thrown earlier. "I get the idea." She looks at Ziggy and Twisted while using a mental command to put her gun and the condo key into her inventory. "Ziggy. Twisted. It's time to go." Ziggy and Twisted look at her before moving to her side. Incha gestures for them to follow him. Once they walk about one hundred or so yards, they come to a stop. Incha looks around for a moment before carefully walking forward with his hands extended outward as if he were blind or searching for something invisible.

Ivanna looks at Zin'qosh. "What is he doing?" Zin'qosh smirks. "Just watch." A moment later, Incha's hands act like they are touching something solid. However, it looks like he is doing an impersonation of a mime. A mere second later, he grunts, pushing against the air before the area around them shatters into a million pieces, leaving them in a moment of darkness. A few seconds later, the world reforms and she finds that they are standing in a parking lot near the harbor.

She blinks several times while looking around. Zin'qosh and Incha walk to a nearby black sedan. "Come on. We don't have time to waste." Ivanna nods, turning to look at Twisted and Ziggy. However, she doesn't see Ziggy anywhere. "Where did Ziggy go?" That is when a normal-sized centipede gently skitters onto her left foot and wraps around her ankle. Twisted softly meows at Ivanna before looking at her like he wants her to pick him up. She shakes her head, quickly picking up Twisted before heading to the black sedan. 'This is all so weird...'

She can feel her mind reeling a little from going with these two to an unknown location, but it isn't like she has many options. 'I hope the condo is nice...' She sets Twisted on her lap and belts herself in. Will the condo be luxurious, adequate, or pitiful?
