Zack and Taylor talk

Zack rolled over and stared at the clock next to the bed he was sleeping in. He then looked around the room to get his bearings. He could tell that he was still at Silver Lake, but he knew that he wasn’t in Ravers’ Cabin anymore. The décor did not match at all. Slowly, he hopped out of bed and went looking for someone to give him some answers. He did not have far to look. As he stepped out into the hallway, Zack bumped into Peter.

“Hey! Zack Attack! How you feeling?” asked Peter.

“Like shit. But at least I slept well. Where’s Taylor?” Zack responded.

“My sleeping pills are great aren’t they? Your sister is outside on the deck, talking to Hannah. Get yourself something to eat and I’ll tell her you’re up!” Peter said as he walked off.

A short while later Zack was half way through a bowl of cereal when Taylor walked into the dining room. She walked over to her baby brother and ran her hand through his hair. Tears rolled down his face as he ate.

“So Kendra and Shawn left last night. After everything happened, Peter, Hannah, Dustin and I told them to leave,” Taylor informed Zack.

“Did she admit it?” Zack asked.

“No, but she didn’t have to. We all know what she did to you and who put her up to it.”

“What I want to know is why. Why did she do that to me?”

“I suspect, as does Dustin, that Shawn wanted to add a notch named Victoria to his bedpost. Dustin said that he often caught Shawn looking at her weird. Like he was undressing her with his eyes. Fucking perv!” Taylor said.

“Anyone say anything to Vicky?” asked Zack.

“I tried to last night. It did not go well.”

“What about Dustin? She’ll listen to him if he tells her what’s going on,” Zack pleaded.

“If we tried that, I’m sure she’d just fall even more head-over-heels for Dustin. I think you should just forget her. She’s more trouble than she’s worth. And she’s a total psycho, Zack,” she replied. Taylor flinched when she realized she may have said too much.

“How is she a psycho, Tay?”

“Forget it. Just finish eating then come join us on the deck. We’re going to plan out our day. You’re welcome to join us, Bro!” Taylor invited.

“What happened? Tell me, or I’ll just get it from someone else!”

“You don’t want to hear it. Trust me, Zack!”

“TAYLOR!”

“Okay, Little Brother. But don’t say I didn’t warn you. Anytime you want me to stop, just say the word and I’ll stop,” Taylor instructed him.

For the next half hour, Taylor retold the story of what happened at Heather’s cabin. Zack nearly fell out of his seat when Taylor told him that Vicky was just about to set all of his clothes on fire. Despite being shocked by his former crush’s behavior, Zack listened to the whole story.

“Why didn’t she press charges against you for hitting her?” Zack asked when Taylor finished.

“Because we told her that she’d face charges as well: Theft, destruction of property, vandalism, attempted arson, and disturbing the peace. It shut her the fuck up. Still can’t believe that she threw your keys in the lake! Well, that’s all there is to it.”

“Great my life is over and Vicky is in the hospital because of Shawn and Kendra. If I ever see either one of them again, I’m gonna break my foot off in their ass!”

“Cheer up Bud! Your life isn’t over. There will be other girls. Remember, you’re going off to college in a few months. Girls will be dropping their panties for you by the hundreds!” Taylor tried cheering her brother up.

“Seriously, Taylor? I don’t think it will be hundreds or girls. I’d be lucky to get three.”

“Don’t sell yourself short Zack. Don’t let Shawn and Kendra and Vicky win! Besides, you’ve still got two more gorgeous friends that you could hook up with,” Taylor reminded her brother of his best friend and the stunning brunette that had been vying for his attention recently.

“After what’s happened, I don’t think I can face any of my friends again,” Zack sulked.

“Well then, you could always try hitting on Sexual Napalm out there!”
