Zack's going to bed as well

Meanwhile, Zack had just finished his chat with Brandon and Heather, and was preparing to leave for bed. It seemed like the others had split up already, and he had to admit he was getting pretty tired himself after the long ride out to the cabin.

Luckily he didn't hear the short conversation out in the hallway, and neither did he see the grin on the Kurt's lips when he slipped into his and Victoria's room. If he did, he'd likely have a hard time keeping his fists from connecting with other guy's jaw...

It was bad enough just to pass their door on the way to his own room, and he got a bad feeling in his stomach as he pictured the sweet blonde being harassed by that douchebag and his lecherous comments. There was little he could do without being her actual boyfriend however, and he could only hope she could handle herself without being fooled by his talk...

"Chloe, are you in there...?" He knocked carefully on the door, and waited a few moments before daring to enter. It seemed like his room mate was already half asleep however, and he could barely hear her reply from outside the door.

"Hmm...?" She just looked up at him briefly from the bed, before putting her head back on her pillow and turning her face to the wall.

"I'm sorry..." He whispered, but couldn't hide a smile as he was reminded how cute she was in her sleep. She'd always been that way, ever since they were kids, and Zack remembered how he'd often studied her face when they were having their sleepovers. The difference now from then was that there was several other things passing through his head, rather than wanting to wake her with some silly and childish little prank.

"It's okay..." She yawned a little, and seemed to listen while he cautiously stepped out of his clothes. "Just try not to snore or wriggle around too much..."

"Yeah, I'll try." He returned with a smile, and slipped under the covers at the other side of their wide bed. "Same goes for you, by the way...!"

"I've never been snoring in my life!" She snorted back at him, and found herself smiling despite of her troubled mind. Zack was still her best friend after all, and it wasn't really his fault he'd been after a girl that didn't give a shit about him - rather than flirting with someone who actually did. "Good night, Zachary..."

"Good night, Miss McRose." He smiled right back at her, which really didn't help at all in her attempts of being mad at him. Instead it didn't only remind her off their shared childhood, but also of the times she'd laid sleepless at night - just longing for his voice or gentle touch...
