Yourself over Alex

As much as you like Alex, you're not going to risk losing your life or even a hand over her, so it doesn't take you long to nod your agreement to El Jefe's terms. It doesn't mean you're happy about it, but you're going to look out for yourself first. Once you're free, you can find a way to rescue Alex later.

El Jefe then has his henchman dial Alex on your phone and hold it up to your face, keeping it on speakerphone so that the cartel boss can listen in.

"Hello? John? Where are you, hun?" Alex answers on the second ring.

"... hey Alex," you say.

"Where are you? Did you go out and have fun last night? I know the wedding's not until the afternoon, but I need you back here to get ready," Alex says.

You look at El Jefe, who stares back at you, before you answer. "Yeah, I uh... it's a long story... Um... Can you do something for me?"

"What?"

"I uh... I just need you to come meet me. Some guys are going to come by the mansion and you'll go with them, okay?"

"Huh? Why can't you just come get me using your powers?"

"It's... a surprise. Just go with them, okay?" you say. El Jefe raises a finger and you quickly add, "By yourself. Leave anyone else at the mansion, okay?"

"... okay, I guess. Will be take long? We really have to get ready for the wedding."

"It won't be long, I promise."

"Okay, see you soon," Alex says, sounding doubtful at the other end of the line but since you 2 have been together, she has always gone along with whatever you've asked her to do.

The henchman ends the call. He drops your phone to the ground and smashes it with his boot. Then, El Jefe, Eiza and the rest of the cartel henchmen go to the big house nearby, leaving you with the henchman with the machete in the sun while they wait. It's starting to get hot and you hope this won't take too long.
