You'll work for him

"I could work for you. Do whatever you want," you say.

"And how will I know you'll keep your promise?" El Jefe asks.

You think about it for a second before you answer. You realize you don't have many options if you treasure your life. "I'll give you 1 of my rings, as a show of good faith," you say.

"... but then you'll still have 4. And you could turn against me and just take that 1 ring back," El Jefe says. He's not wrong and he's certainly not an idiot to have become the boss of a cartel. You're not sure what else to propose when Eiza leans over to El Jefe and whispers into his ear. He listens to her for a while before he nods and turns back to you.

"Eiza says you really love that actress, Alexa Daddario? And your wedding is today?" the cartel boss asks.

You nod. It takes you a few seconds to understand why he's asking about Alex. He probably wants to use her as leverage against you.

"Good, good," El Jefe says, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. He says something in Spanish to his henchman with the machete, who puts the blade away onto his belt and walks up to you. He climbs onto a short stepladder on the ground and reaches into your pocket, fishing your phone out.

El Jefe steps closer to you with Eiza until you're looking down at them. You try not to stare down the deep valley down Eiza's shirt and focus on your situation. "If you really want this deal to work, you're going to call Alexa and tell her to go willingly with my men. Do you understand?"

"What are you going to do to her?" you ask, fearful for Alex.

"Nothing. That's the point. As long as I've got her hidden away, you'll have to do my bidding, yes? In exchange, I will make sure she's unharmed and safe. Not a single hair on her will be touched," El Jefe says.

You hesitate, realizing that you'll have to exchange Alex's freedom for your own.
