"What?" April said, surprised by Rachel's reaction. "It's what your sister said you wanted!"

Rachel looked to Melissa in shock. Melissa meanwhile, was barely containing her laughter. Her sister looked absurd! Since she'd started bulking up, Melissa found Rachel's newfound ego insufferable. She was loving seeing Rachel brought low, hence the haircut.

"What? I think you look cute!" Melissa said innocently.

"I look like a boy!" Rachel squealed.

"Hey, the androgynous look is in!" April said.

Maybe for some girls, but Rachel was having an identity crisis. She wanted her femininity accented, not removed!
