What's next?
Your neighbor's daughter, Savannah
"...Savannah Moore..."
You looked at the doctor for a few moments before your attention then turned to the woman standing in the room next to him, a familiar face of your neighbor, Nicollete Moore, a single woman who had often taken you along with Savannah to the lake during your earlier summers to swim and play.

"Savannah's the other victim?" you whispered and Nicollete, unable to look at you, nodded her head. "My god...Ms. Moore, I'm so sorry..."
At that, she broke down in tears and before the nurses could stop her, latched on to you and hugged, crying into your shoulder. Even though a burst of pain struck you and made you a bit dizzy, you patted her back and allowed her to cry for a few moments before she managed to compose herself enough to whisper an apology and stand back. "Sorry, I know how much this is upsetting, Tim..."
You took some deep breaths and the charge nurse, alerted to your vitals, quickly came in and readjusted the lines, all the while glaring at the three adults in the room who weren't her patient. After she left, Dr. Saunders, the older one, cleared his throat and looked at you. "Your dad's operation was a success, his brain's been safely implanted and everything is moving forward."
"So...he's now..?"
"For the world, he's now Savannah Moore, 14 years old." Dr. Kerry looked at you. "We can't make any guarantees but she's been up for about a week and is getting ready for discharge."
You looked down at your hands and the blanket suddenly seemed like the only security blanket you had in the world. "So, I'm all alone now?"
Saunders looked at the other two before he reached up to the IV and gave you a dose to put you asleep. "Get some rest, Tim, we'll talk more later."

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
