Your Mother's Daughter

You can't hold on anymore as the pain flows over you. Your vision turns red and then everything fades to nothingness.

But even in your unconscious state you still hurt. Nowhere near as intense as before but there's still an overwhelming feeling of discomfort. You feel yourself slipping into a mindless fog but then you hear something.

"...ake up..." It's a woman's voice, something about it is warm, comforting. You feel drawn to it, the fog starts to clear and you can feel yourself being drawn back to consciousness. "...yn, wake up..."

Your eyes flutter open. You're lying on something hard, it feels like it's made of stone. A woman sits next to you, affectionately stroking your face as she does. Her snow white skin, soft blonde hair, icy blue eyes, brilliant red dress...something about them triggers memories in you. Looking at her you feel warmth, maybe affection? Her blood red lips form a soft smile as she notices your eyes open.

"There's my darling little girl. Take your time Evelyn, you've been asleep for quite some time dear." She speaks in a motherly tone that almost puts you at ease but that name, is that your name? It sounds familiar but...
