You wake up to some bad news

“Your father and I have decided that Clive will be moving in. His parents have abandoned him and he needs a place to stay.”

You can’t believe what you just heard your mother say, how can that be true? Abandoned? He’s a freakin’ adult. Also, since when would they even consider letting him move in?

“What? I don’t understand... they abandoned him?”

“Yeah, it’s a pretty shitty thing for parents to do but apparently they left him a note saying they’re selling the house, he needs to move out immediately and that they want nothing to do with him.”

As strange as that all sounds, you wonder why your family wants anything to do with him either. Something is clearly wrong with the guy, for his own parents to have had essentially run away from their adult son.

“Oh... ok, well... for how long is he staying here?” you ask. “A couple of months, maybe 10 weeks. Maybe longer. He’s such a nice kid, we need to be here for him while he’s going through this difficult time and besides, Rebecca loves him dearly- I know you two haven’t gotten along very well in the past but I need you to try and get along with him.”

You have little choice in this situation...
