You volunteer to go first

Alexis : "I guess it's supposed to be my manor so I'll do the first honors"

Jeeves : "Excellent. You can flip a tile and line up the doors"

You do as he says, revealing a tile labeled 'Kitchen' with a swirl that matched the back of the event card deck. you place it next to the dining room, perpendicular to the table and the direction labeled "north" based on a compass etched onto the Dining Room Tile. As you did so you heard a click from the corresponding door.

Jeeves : "Looks like there's something eventful happening in there, better draw a card for a hint of what's to come."

The event deck seems to spark with energy as you reach for it. You aren't sure what to expect when you turn over the card and read what it says out loud.

The chef has made you and two other players of your choice a special treat to share. Choose wisely.

Jeeves : "Chef Barly is always experimenting with new recipes. His concoctions are known to leave a lasting impression..."

Jeff : "Ok, so it gives a status effect. I wonder what kind of status effects this game has, that's so cool. Pick me!"

One of the things you liked most about Jeff was his ability to really commit and get lost in his nerdy side when he let his cool exterior slip. It really felt like old times. You were so happy that this felt so normal.

Alexis : "Ok, Jeff can have a treat, who else wants to take a try?"

The other three exchanged glances. Sammy seemed to still be trying to gauge out where she fit into the group and both Brian and James were skittish by nature. It was going to be up to you to choose.
