This is not a very serious wound (otherwise you would drop your weapon). You overcome the pain and continue to carefully observe the enemy. Perhaps the specific state of your body, after the tragic changes that have recently occurred to you, partly helps you overcome pain.

You think bitterly: “Obviously this monster is not human. But can the term “human” be used to describe myself? After all the terrible events that happened to me, I am also only an undead creature, and not a human..."

The vampire stopped about 4 meters away from you. You see him licking blood from the claws on his right hand. This blood is from your body. But it is likely that this blood entered your body only as a result of the fact that you killed those two commoners who recklessly opened your cell. You killed these innocent humans. You drank all their blood.

You put your shield forward again. You are preparing to defend yourself. You also notice that the right sleeve of your enemy's gray doublet has been cut. The wound from your sword is visible on the vampire's right hand. Moreover, this wound is quite deep. But there is no blood flowing from this wound at all. And your enemy shows no signs at all that he is in pain from this wound.

When the vampire licks the blood from his claw, he says: “Interesting! So that means you've been turned into a vampire. It was one of those young idiots in the upper section of the crypt that I assigned as guards. Whoever did this deserves to be destroyed. But your enemy is again disappearing from view with rapid speed.

You feel a breath of air. The enemy is behind you!

You try to turn around quickly. You almost have time to do it. But the enemy manages to deal you a powerful blow. The claws cut your left hand (in the place near the palm where the steel of the armor does not cover the body). The vampire's claws also cut the leather belt with which you held your shield. The shield falls to the stone floor. Also falling onto the stone floor are the stubs of your left fingers. This is very painful. You let out a groan of anguish and swing your sword chaotically.

The enemy easily dodges your attacks. You see only a blurry dark silhouette that moves at supernaturally high speed.

After a couple of seconds, you again see your opponent in the center of the room.

The old vampire smiles mockingly, revealing the long and sharp fangs of a predator.

He tells you, “You were meant to be nothing but cattle to be used for food. You are like a weak-willed sheep, destined by fate to be tasty food for higher beings. The end of your animal existence would correspond to your mental abilities: a bloodless body in a heap of garbage. The fact that you were given the gift of becoming a vampire was a blatant mistake.
