Chapter 4

You go to this tavern. What will you find there?
You try to find the necessary information and join a group of halforcs.
"Fuck this town! Fuck this kingdom! I want to start a new free life..." - these are approximately your thoughts as you walk along the narrow and dirty streets of the city.
Thinking about your life situation led you to disappointing conclusions.
The laws of the kingdom are biased towards half-orcs and significantly limit their opportunities. This fact is combined with the everyday unfriendly attitude of the local inhabitants.
Your entire life in the city of Ranelborg was filled with conflicts, prejudices and humiliations, the justification for which was your half-orc origin.
Of course, you had the muscles and strong character to withstand this shit and defend your own dignity.
However, how long will all this continue?
Isn't it time to take radical measures in order to stop the need to exist in this uncomfortable environment?
Indeed, you have no relatives or friends left in this city.
The few people who you regularly interacted with in this city clearly did not have any genuine friendly feelings towards you. They only sought to use their acquaintance with you for their own personal gain.
You recall one such person - the gnome Kynth Gwyn.
"A sly fellow who constantly comes up with all sorts of dubious ways to get money... He has tried more than once to involve me in his charlatan dealings... But I felt that it would be reckless to trust this gnome..." - you think.
So, as a result of a long analysis of the options, you are finally convinced of the correctness of the decision to leave the territory of the Sacred Kingdom of Orlania.
One of the rumors you heard in a couple of local taverns allows you to take some decisive action in this direction.
To be more precise, you want to go with a group of half-orcs to the great forest of Delknar to live freely in the newly founded independent settlement.
However, finding specific information was not so easy...
In the first tavern, you again heard only fragmentary and unreliable information without any specific information about the location of the half-orc group.
Fragmentary rumors heard in a conversation between a couple of drunks - this is clearly not enough to find the half-orc group you need.
As a result, you had to spend two days just looking for reliable information...
Finally, through long questioning in several taverns (and after a couple of small bribes), you managed to find out the exact location of the half-orc group you needed.
You spent the next day selling things you did not need for your journey through the forest.
You collected money, bought supplies, suitable clothing and weapons.
Studded leather armor - a convenient option for clothing for multi-day journeys through the vast expanses of the forest, in your opinion. This armor is made of strong but flexible leather and reinforced with closely spaced spikes and rivets. Such clothing does not restrict movement and does not slow down (unlike a heavy metal cuirass or chainmail). In addition, this thing has a lower cost...
You also bought a pair of iron daggers and a long spear with a sharp steel tip.
In the end, you have almost no money left.
You purposefully walked along the streets of the city in the direction of the northern gate...
Now you know the exact location of the camp of the half-orc group you need.
Their small tent camp was located in an area outside the city walls.
The city authorities were suspicious and wary of this group of half-orcs - so all conditions were created to **** them to stay away from the rest of the townspeople. Independent searches inside the city itself would not have yielded any results...
It's good that you spent time and effort to obtain reliable information.
"The Count and the city guards probably see all half-orcs as potential criminals... It's no wonder that this group was **** to leave the town..." - you think with a sad smile, approaching the tent camp.
Near the tents there are several carts with oxen harnessed to them.
You are met by a pair of half-orc guards.
You explain your intentions to join their group and they take you to the leader of the group.
In the largest and cleanest tent, a stocky and muscular half-orc is waiting for you.
He was reading some papers lying on a small table.

He looks about 40 years old (possibly a little older). Light greenish skin. Scars on his face... In addition, he has a black mustache and a large black beard on his face. He is dressed in an iron cuirass with metal shoulder pads, leather pants and boots. His clothes, posture and appearance clearly demonstrate the status of a local leader.
His gray eyes look at you demandingly.
"Hello, my name is Ulkin Nordane... I am very tired of this shitty city and its shitty rules! I would like to join your group and get away from here..." - you state the essence of your intentions.
"What enthusiasm! And do you know how to fight? Will you not chicken out at a dangerous moment, guy?" - the hoarse voice of the bearded half-orc sounds as if with some hidden mockery.
"Of course, I know how to fight! Take me with you and you will see for yourself!" - you answer hotly. It seems that a hint of cowardice even made your cheeks blush with indignation.
"Huh... Well... You will come with us. Soon there will be an opportunity to test your abilities... And now you can go. Guys will show you your tent…” - the bearded half-orc looks at you with slight irony and turns away to the table.
Two half-orc guards take you to one of the large tents on the outskirts of the camp.
“Sharp said that tomorrow we will finally set off…” - you managed to hear the words of one of the half-orc guards, who were already leaving on their own business.
“Sharp” is similar to the nickname of the leader of this group, who hinted at your cowardice. You still haven’t managed to find out his real name.
You look around the new place…
Inside the tent on the ground there are about a dozen sleeping bags, woven from dirty, worn-out fabric.
It seems that it would be naive to expect comfortable living conditions in this place…
The looks of your new half-orc neighbors did not demonstrate a particularly friendly disposition…
However, you intend to steadfastly overcome difficulties.
The next day, you and a group of half-orcs are heading northeast. You are in a group of about 50 people.
The city walls of Ranelborg quickly disappear from view.
Your group quickly crosses the border of the kingdom.
However, at first, the group does not go deeper into the forest.
The half-orcs are walking along the edge of the forest along the river.
You know that on the opposite bank of the river is the territory of one of the dwarven states. The Republic of Grondfarg is an oligarchic state dominated by the merchant guilds of the richest dwarven clans. Dwarven merchants often came with trade caravans to the fairs in the city of Ranelborg. Personally, you were left with the impression of these dwarves as greedy and cunning swindlers.
Distracted from these thoughts, you ask one of your half-orc companions: "Why don't we go deeper into the forest? Why are we going along the river?"
"It's none of your business... Sharp is our commander and he understands the route planning better! Probably, for now we should go along the river - it will be safer and it will be easier to replenish fresh water supplies..." - a lanky bald half-orc, dressed in dirty fur pants and a torn leather vest, grumbles.
The group's path along the river continues for a couple more days...
Then the route changes - the group's commander gives the order to turn east and go deeper into the forest wilderness.
The Great Forest of Delknar...
Now with each passing day you go deeper into the vast thickets of this forest...
What awaits you next?
