You try to block it!

You raise your arm and try to move your sword to catch the web before it hits you. There is a soft hiss as the mutant fires its silk at you. Your sword is not wide enough to catch all of the spray and it quickly is covering your arms and upper body. The silk some you try to move your arms but the silk is so sticky its impossible!

The mutant hisses again and moves its head to aim for your legs. You scramble backwards towards where Morgath and Rachel were. You are just barely able to avoid getting your feet anchored to the ground by wed. As you do you notice that Morgath had been moving to the right to flank the mutant and was now charging it. The mutant's attention is focused solely on you and it doesn't notice his approach until it is far too late. His axe is much heavier than your short sword and when he brings it down on the caterpillar's back the exoskeleton yields with a wet crunch. The caterpillar lets out a loud squeal and writhes. Morgath snarls and pulls his axe out of the mutant. The blade is covered in dark green goo. You assume its the mutant's blood but its much thicker than normal blood.

"Aw shutup ya filthy" Morgath growls as he buries the axe in the struggling caterpillar's head. It twitches then dies.
You feel a smaller hand grip your shoulder and hear Rachel behind you.

"Stay still hero while I free you from this web" Her voice is sharp and you can tell shes mocking you. You don't respond as she roughly saws through the web holding your arms against your body. It takes a couple of seconds before you can move your arms again. By the time you can Morgath has freed the pink haired girl and pulled her away from the dead caterpillar. You get a second look at her.
She does not look very good.

Morgath looks at you with irritation clear on his face.

"Now what the hell did I say about hero bullshit! Come one cadet you know this aint a game! This isnt some story! You cant just start over if you don't like the outcome! This is real life cadet and I expect you not to pull bullshit like that again, understand!"
You nod, a bit embarrassed and start to say something but he cuts you off.

"Not only were you reckless but you didn't have the common sense to realize you needed backup! Teamwork is the most important skill Rangers have. I know they went over that in the academy! If we weren't here you'd be **** to walk back to the village without being able to swing a sword. I don`t think I need to explain how bad that would be for you. I expect better from you from now on you understand!"

You nod, ashamed you had messed up that bad. Worst of all you can feel the satisfaction oozing off Rachel. You know she must be loving this.

Morgath sighs and shakes his head, "Aw well. I know when I was a cadet I made some similar mistakes. Just learn from them and you'll be fine. Besides that's why we have these missions." He pats you on the shoulder and puts the pink haired girl over his shoulder as gently as he can. You hear a soft crying and notice that the blond haired girl you rescued from the Spa plant is back to being fully aware. Rachel seems to have talked to her since she's not freaking out but she doesn't really seem to be in the mood to talk to put it lightly.

Morgath looks at her then at Rachel. "Does she need help?"
Rachel shakes her head "She can walk. Lets get out of here, it smells like mutant blood."

You stay silent as the four of you start heading back to the path. It doesn't take long before you are back on the path and are heading back toward Woodsbroke. You glance at the pink haired girl. Her breaths havent gotten any better. You decide to ask Morgath about her.

"Hey Morgath is she gunna be ok?" You ask.
