How do you save yourself from the Chilly Tarn?

You struggle ashore, exhausted. Gain +1 XP and a Consequence

You fight the stiffness in your limbs as you struggle through the waters of the Chilly Tarn. You call on the heat of the dragon's blood in your veins and a surge of energy rises to aid you. But it's still a fight with the cold.

The Minerval girls gabble at each other, trying to decide what to do. You stretch out your arms, pull, kick. Again. Again. Again through the icy water as your body feels number and stiffer. You feel the stones of the shingly beach under your hands. The two Minervals, Moonface and Scarecrow, pull you all the way onto the shore.

"You're not supposed to jump like that, you could go too deep!" one chides uselessly.

"Put a blanket on her!" the other says.

"You do it!"

You lie prone on upon the flat pebbles, your shoulders and hips aching with the exertion in the cold, your skin numb and puckered with gooseflesh. The authors of your trouble bicker above your naked, chilly self. It's enough to breathe. You think you could start shivering in a little bit, that would be good. But right now you're wrung out.

"You go get Dorothy the Porter, I'll stay here. No, leave your cloak! Silly cow!"

The tall thin girl with the black witchy thatch of hair covers you with her cloak while Moonface goes to find Dorothy.

"Dorothy's a giantess," the Minerval says. "She'll get you right along."

Record +1 XP (1 XP) as you call on your inner strength to save yourself.
Record a CONSEQUENCE (-1 on all Rolls) from exhaustion.

Roll +Bravery (+3 Bravery, -1 for the Consequence) to encounter Dorothy the Porter.

Roll +Bravery-1 (+2) to Encounter Dorothy the Porter
