You negotiate

For the first time since walking out of your carriage, you feel the need to talk on your behalf. "My sister and her purity is a national treasure; I couldn't just hand her over to you freely."

Realizing that his suggestion is not brought down immediately, the Arch Duke feels empowered, so he waves his hand in the air. "Well, I am a reasonable man. Let's go into my gallery and discuss this privately."

You, Sir Dietrich, and Archduke Wilbur all walk silently into his castle. His castle shows his land's depressed state as the walls clearly marked where large paintings and armor once hung but are now sold off. At the door to his gallery, he turns to you and asks, "Since we will discuss private personal matters, I would much prefer this negotiation to be just between you and me, My King." before motioning toward Sir Dietrich.

You know it would be best to have Sir Dietrich's quick wit and silver tongue around for any negotiation, but you can already feel the animosity radiating between the two of them. Therefore if Sir Dietrich is around, the negotiation will break down. So you order, "Sir Dietrich, please wait here."

Even though he doesn't like the order, he bows, "As you wish, my king."

You and the Arch Duke enter the gallery. The Arch Duke's gallery is the only room in the whole castle that has a semblance of luxury in it, and if you hadn't been a King yourself, you would have been genuinely impressed by all the paintings and refined decoration.

The stark contrast of decoration leaves you temporarily dimwitted, allowing the Archduke to make the first move. "I see that you did not question me becoming the King's Regent. So the only thing that we are negotiating with is your sister."

To be honest, you are hoping to negotiate him about him becoming the King Regent as well, but you can tell that the Archduke knows you need him more than he needs you at this moment. So you just accept it is fate that he will be in control of the King's succession. "As I said before, my sister's purity is a national treasure. Therefore, she can not be your concubine."

"I know well that noble women's purity is used to secure treaties and public insurance. So as long as she does that, then I see no reason I can't have her as my concubine."

You laugh as you attempt to regain your wit. "So, my dear noble, tell me. If I hand over my sister to you, for you to **** her with your lust, how will I benefit? With what nation will you secure a treaty with my country?

The Arch Duke smiles back at you with a crooked smile as if he is scheming something. "With my cousin Kingdom. The Kingdom of Frankia."

You grab a chair and sit down. "A security treaty with them is certainly of a of great value, but I have yet to be convinced how you enjoying my sister will result in that."

The Arch Duke waves his hands in the air as if he is making a grand gesture, "Because I will be offering you my daughter's hand in marriage."

You can help but break out in laughter as you say, "On my dear foolish noble, please enlighten your king on how in the bloody world would me stealing Frankie's princes' future bride would result in a treaty and not a war!"

Much to your surprise, the Arch Duke remains calm as he says, "Because you wouldn't be stealing his bride. Think about it this way; two countries united through ONE Queen!"
