Choose one and describe the consequences.
You have to give it your all. Take a CONSEQUENCE and go to the Infirmary
The first half of the exercise, under the Warden's eyes, goes increasingly well as you warm to your task. The second half, invocation, manifestation, and a greater banishing, is more of a challenge. As the more complex task taxes your concentration and strength, the last few days' toll on your stamina becomes more obvious to you.
You fight the fatigue with a redoubled effort, intoning the conjurations from your diaphragm, projecting them strongly out into the little bubble of your magic circle. You know that the Warden is watching, and you feel you must do your best to meet her challenge for you. If you can do it now, you can prove yourself.
As you turn within the circle, you catch glimpses of the Warden, still standing nude, watching you. Is that a look of satisfaction on her face? Of doubt? Of something else? You call your mind sharply back to your task, hearing the blood sing in your ears as you exert your concentration to project magical ****.
The invocation complete, you move straight on to the manifestation, a golden thunderstorm within the circle. The droplets strike you like warm tears. You sway on your feet, but stay on task. This would be a terrible time to falter. Calling on your strength again, you dismiss the manifestation, then move into a greater banishing. You have to **** out each word, to enunciate loudly and strongly. And then comes the lesser banishing, the clearing of the space. And last the unwinding of the circle.
By the time all is complete, you are wavering unsteadily on your feet. The moisture of perspiration is hot under your arms and chill on your naked back. Your pulse throbs hard in your temples and you hear a high keening in your ears.
"Well done, Morgan," the Warden says. "You..."
Your vision dims and the room spins about you. Anxious humor bubbles up from inside.
Morgan finishes her set, but sticks the landing.
You start to fall.
Cross off the GOAL. Gain +1 XP. Since you already have a CONSEQUENCE, the second CONSEQUENCE sends you to the Infirmary.
You have +2 Ambition, -1 Bravery, +2 Cunning, +0 Diligence, and 5 XP.
Your FRIENDs are Fay and Barbara Torch, Warden of Leontes.
You have a CONSEQUENCE (Heartsick at missing Fay).
You have a GOAL owed to the Warden (Testing the Wards, -2 on Cunning).
Roll +Bravery (-2) (-1 Bravery, -1 Consequence) to GET OUT OF THE INFIRMARY.
