Chapter 16 by tallywhacker tallywhacker

What do you do?

You have to be a cool guy; girls are watching

You can't follow the bug catchers and campers around the tree, and you can't just protect this girl till someone else saves her. You have to be the hero; anything less would be an insult to yourself.

The tree's too heavy, so you'll have to make it lighter. You call on Smoochum to coat the girl in powder snow for protection before setting to work burning the tree. Charmeleon's mouth shines as he bites into the trunk; wood turns to ash as he gnaws his way through. Smoochum keeps the girl insulated and Horsea maintains the perimeter till Charmeleon cuts through the tree. The section still pinning the girl proves light enough to lift between you and Charmeleon and the woman manages to crawl out.

"Thank you" The blonde works her way to her feet.

"You're welcome," You slip under her arm give her support while pulling her damp body close. "My name's Gary."

She seems startled being carried, but she realizes you wont listen to an argument. "I'm Amarillo."

Yellow, the franchise pacifist? She was never in the games and was never this old. Her straw hat is missing, probably lost to the fire, and her ponytail falls to her waist. She's still mostly adrogynous, but her soft features betray her femininity. Her wet clothes cling to her subtle curves.

"Let me see your pokemon; they must be exhausted after all this." It's true. In the time it took you to rescue Yellow, the fire comsumed the path ahead. Yellow can't move fast in her condition and Hosea definitely doesn't have the energy to forge a path.

You pick the water type off your shoulder and hand it to the girl. She spends a tender moment holding it to her forehead doing whatever magic lets her heal wounds. With Horsea back in fighting shape, the two of you stagger through the last leg into the ranger station.
