You go to your home which is located in an affluent neighborhood.

You pull into your smart home that automatically opens up the garage door as soon as you arrive.

From the outside, your house looked very simple but it was anything but. It has been built with grey bricks and has granite decorations. Tall, large windows allow enough light to enter the home and have been added to the house in a very symmetric way.

The house is equipped with a small kitchen and three bathrooms. It also has a fairly small living room, three small bedrooms, a spacious but spartan dining area, and a snug storage room.

The building is square-shaped. The house is fully surrounded by a patio.

The second floor is the same size as the first, which has been built exactly on top of the floor below it. This floor has roughly the same style as the floor below.

The roof is flat and is covered with brown roof tiles. There are no chimneys. Several large windows let in plenty of light to the rooms below the roof.

The house itself is surrounded by a modest garden, with mostly grass, a few flower patches, and a children's playground.

The thing that made your house the most valuable in the entire neighborhood wasn't the interior decorations or the amount of space your house had. What made it valuable was the insane home security protocols that were built into it, replete with automatic machine guns and total lockdown shields. It would take an army of heavy artillery and high powered weaponry to take down your house.

The basement was converted into a research lab for your experiments with security protocols that rivaled some of the most secure places on earth. And just below that was the motherlode responsible for the true cost of the house. A full functional fallout shelter with 30 years worth of non-perishable food supply. You made sure to keep check of inventory every 6 months to make sure your supplies have not gone bad.

"Sarah, upload the footage."

"Yes Wolf, uploading now. Would you like me to add it to the usual folder?"

"Yes please."

"Okay, I'll do that and inform you when it's done."

*Time to get to work.* With a few commands from your phone, you lock down your entire house and then proceed to go to the basement. A fingerprint, voice analysis and retina scan later you enter your lab.

It had nearly all the same facilities as the Fabrication Lab at NanoSwarm Inc. You take out the cube and place it on a flat cubical receptacle that glows a soft white when you place the cube inside it.

After nearly 20 hours of nonstop coding and debugging and a lot of caffeine to tweak the behavior of the AI, Marty, that Maggie had made, you realized that it wasn't a true AI just yet. But it was tantalizingly close. It lacked any motivation and drive and would only follow orders. It was great as a companion AI. Now all that it required was some real-world knowledge about all the different kinds of sciences in the world. You press enter and Marty starts processing new information at high speeds, learning entire disciplines within the span of a few seconds.

"Jesus, that took longer than expected." You look at your watch and it read 8:30 pm the next day. You blow out air in exhaustion. You are just about to go upstairs to sleep in your bedroom when the image of the burly guard and his fiendish smile flashes in your mind.

You quickly open up the folder and look through the latest video. The events play out the same way as they did yesterday. Just when he flashes you his smile, you pause the video. Going back a few frames you notice it with stark clarity. It was only visible in a single frame, but there it was. The top and bottom rows of his teeth were all sharp to a point.

You were damn sure this wasn't a camera artifact. You save a copy of this frame. Over the past couple of weeks, you had obtained many such images of other patrons, who looked weird. In every single case, just for the smallest amount of time, barely a frame worth, you'd see something different and abnormal.

You go through them all once again

There were many more such images. You wanted to play this off as some weird cosplay party thing, but it wasn't. Those frames are real. Nobody can change in and out of costume that fast. Something was definitely up.
