You gain a new stepmother

Your father, Daniel, divorced your mother when you were in elementary school, and he had won full custody of you in court. While you enjoyed the occasional visit from your mother, you still enjoyed living with your Dad. You feel you would be content to share a roof with him and him alone until you moved out.

Then when you were sixteen, he had met Joanne, a single mother with a daughter your own age.

Joanne was smart, compassionate, kind, and quite the bombshell. However, you felt as though you and she hardly had anything in common. That was not to say you had not tried to bond with her. You honestly wanted to get along, but what was there for you to do together.
