Chapter 5 by Orlog4 Orlog4

You are free. At least for now. What will you do now?

You endured their shit for long enough. Time to make them pay

“What did you just called me?” you growl angry.

It has been ages since you used your metallic voice last time. But it is still like a rolling thunder. The cult often used war-golems also as messengers to threaten both enemies and people who wanted to stay neutral. But you can’t enjoy your power for more than a second. Rao, who is dressed in a nice-looking blue robe with an unknown symbol on the chest, seems to be not as headless as the rest of this guys. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see that he's preparing a spell. You're still too weak to take it lightly. Mages can be dangerous.

Quickly you reach for another one of the artefact hunters and grab him by the leg. With the power only a magically forged body could provide, you throw the panicking artefact hunter towards Rao. The young mage can’t react in time and is too stunned to finish his spell in time. The impact knocks out both of them immediately. And probably broke one of them a leg or a rib, but that’s not your concern actually.

With the biggest thread out of your way, you can take a closer look at the criminals who freed you. The leader of the group is the only one who wears a real armor. He wears a chain mail and leather protectors at his elbows and knees. Of course, this will not get him far against a colossus weighting several tons like you. He also has a one-handed longsword that looks not bad at all.

All of his goons are even worse equipped. Including the one you just threw, you can see four humans and a dwarf. All dressed in normal clothes or light armor at best. The dwarf at least wears a metal helmet. Rao is a lizardman, but he only wears his mage robe. And at the end you can see the woman. She has short, pointed ears, but there are no other physical characteristics which are typical for elves. You assume she is a quarter elf. A child of a half elf and a human. Your old master had a quarter elven **** once. She was his and his pathetic sons’ favorite toy until she couldn’t endure it anymore and killed herself.

But now is not the time for old memories. You are trained to focus on the battle. You assume that the woman is neither armed nor seems to be a mage like Rao, but you still keep her in mind. Dwarfs are great warriors, and you assume a good placed hit by this one’s big axe could probably make a small gap in your armor, if he hits you at forcefully at the right place. And with a hole or gap in your other shell, your Golem-core is only protected by some Brackets for gears and springs, which ensure your body is functional. The dwarf has to go first.

“Rao … Rao do something!” the boss demands and seems not to understand or accept the fact that Rao is ****, “god dammit bookworm. Pauly, Torvar, do something! Attack it from behind.”

Behind you are a human with two daggers who could possible make scratches in your already pretty battered metal skin and the dwarf. You assume this is Torvar. This name sounds not like a human’s one. As expected from a real dwarf, Torvar doesn’t hesitate to throw himself in battle, even if his chances are small. But the human, Pauly, is either smart enough ot too afraid to follow his bosses order. He carefully retreats together with the other humans.

Torvar ignores the fact that he is alone and wields his axe while running towards you. He jumps the last three meters with this axe ready to destroy you. But his attack was predictable and much too slow. Your big steel fist hits him in the jump. The impact breaks at least three bones in his robust dwarf-body and catapults him away. He gets thrown five meters higher in the air and lands with an ugly sound around seven meters away from you. He doesn’t move, so you assume he is either dead or so hurt that he is no danger anymore. You assume he was not raised as a warrior by his people.

You turn around to the Boss of this idiots, who is now the last remaining enemy on the field. The woman watches you in horror, but seems not to take any actions. It takes a while for you to find the boss. While the dwarf distracted you, he ran to the small camp of his gang. It is just a bunch of tents, to be honest. Roughly a dozen meters away from the hole you came from. When you enter the camp to finish the boss, he just runs out of the biggest camp. In his hands he has a bronze stick. This can’t be. He has a golem control rod. If it is yours, he could command you to do literally everything.

“Stay where you are, stupid piece of scrap!” the boss commands angry, “I have your control rod and you will do what I say! Bow to you master, creature!”

Well, is it yours? Are your to obey a new master?
