You decide to keep going

"No, thanks," you shake your head.

You decide to keep walking, the man behind you automatically headed towards his next target. For some time, all you see is different gangs drinking at their usual places, a couple mechanics rushing to their destinations, gunshops, armor shops, part shops, a bunch of extra cheap burial services, then suddenly you can hear a guy calling out to you.

"Hey there, newcomers! Care for a drink with a charming guy like me?" you hear the words from a wide shouldered guy, good looking, sitting at the outer area of a pub, holding a drink in his hand, an entire bottle of the stuff next to it.

"Well, why not?" Elena says, and she sits down next to him before she would even think about consulting you.

You stand there motionless for a few seconds. I mean, he is kinda cute. Then you also decide to go, despite anything and everything that could go wrong.

"So, what's your business here, ladies?" the man asks. "Name is Neil by the way."

"We are smugglers looking for some business," you answer, after which you both introduce yourselves, accompanied by a series of handshakes. "Any leads you could let us into?"

"Not right now, honestly," Neil shrugs, his tone changed for the darker. "Don't get me wrong, ladies. In fact, I might just have some business that I need some taking care of. But aside from that. Letting you get some telers that I could use myself? That's just not a smart way of doing business."

"Why did you whistle us down then?" Elena asks.

"Because you two practically reek of being newcomers to this place. And guess what: others can see it too. If you walk out of here, without my company that is, I'm guessing you have one, perhaps two days before you end up with a collar on those pretty necks of yours. So I will be generous here, and let you help with my own business, in return I will get you acquainted with things," Neil answers.

"How do we know if you are not scamming us?" Elena asks.

"You don't, ladies. This is just how this sector works," he answers. "So what will it be? You walk out of here, and get enslaved within a day or two? Or you allow yourselves a fighting chance?"
