Chapter 12

So, how will you proceed in this battle?
You decide to disorient your opponent so you can then run and call for help for yourself.
You decide that due to your injuries, you will not be able to defeat such a strong enemy on your own.
Therefore, you need to somehow slow down the enemy, somehow disorient him. And then you have to run to find help. You'll probably be able to find some kind of city guard patrol.
You roll on the ground to avoid being hit by a wooden club. The club hits the ground in the place where your body was just a moment ago.
You find yourself at the side of your enemy. You quickly get to your feet. You feel pain in different places of your body, but you endure it. Your enemy turns in your direction. He swings his wooden club again to deal you a fatal blow.
You rush towards this half-orc criminal. You understand that you need to quickly close the distance so that the wide swing of the enemy’s club becomes useless.
The enemy clearly did not expect such swiftness from you.
You strain your strength to the limit and you punch your fist into the eye of this half-orc criminal.
Your enemy recoils to the side.
You make a quick movement and you hit him in the leg. Your opponent drops to one knee and roars furiously.
You took advantage of the fact that your enemy is not very mobile right now.
You quickly turn around and run through the streets of the night city towards the barracks of the city guard of the city of Ranelborg.
After a couple of minutes, you see some lone city guard ahead.
You run up to him and you say: “Nearby, on the next street, a group of criminals attacked me! There were four of them! One of them is now chasing me!”
You say all these words and at the same time you examine this city guard.
You understand that this guard is a half-orc like you.
This half-orc is significantly larger and taller than you. He is dressed in chain mail and has a bandage on his arm with a single black line on a blue background. On the face of this half-orc (in the cheekbones and on the left cheek) you notice several star-shaped scars, as if they were marks from arrowheads.
You understand that you are familiar with this half-orc. This is the same half-orc guard, nicknamed "Oakbreaker", who fought a training duel with you on the day you came to the barracks to get a job as the city guard of the city of Ranelborg.
Oakbreaker is listening to you.
He then tells you, "On which street exactly did the attack take place? Show me."
You turn around to gesture to him in the direction to go.
The next moment you feel a sharp, hellish pain. Your vision immediately goes dark. It’s as if your consciousness is falling into some kind of abyss.
If someone outside was watching the situation, he would have seen how the two guards were talking. Then one of the guards turned to the side and gestured towards the next street. The next second, the second guard made a quick movement with his hand. In his hand was a narrow and sharp stiletto. This stiletto pierced the chain mail of the first guard in the place where the neck connects to the skull.
After that, a half-orc with a wooden club came out from the next street. He approached the guard with a stiletto.
The guard with the stiletto angrily scolded this half-orc: "You fucking idiots! You have so much shit in your heads that you can't do your own work quickly and quietly! Get this carrion out of here, you idiot! Quickly!"
After these words, a half-orc with a club picks up and takes away the body of the dead guard somewhere.
The next day, Lieutenant Irmon Craymore crosses one name off the register of guards of the third company of the city guard of the city of Ranelborg.
This name is: "Ulkin Nordane".
