What will you decide about this invitation?
You decide to accept such an unexpected invitation to a party...
You thought that you had one more day before your caravan heads further north... Your invitation indicates that the party will take place at the mansion of Baroness Linergarn, which is located in the western quarter of the city. This party will start today around 7 pm. Therefore, you think that you have enough time. In addition, you warned the merchant Jodaz... After analyzing all the pros and cons, you decide to attend this party...
By this evening you have completed all your urgent matters regarding the protection of the caravan. You gave orders to the rookie guards subordinate to you...
You leave the local trade guild complex where your caravan is staying. You are walking along the evening streets of Teinlund... A cool wind blows in your face... The sky looks cloudy, but there is no rain yet... However, you have foreseen the possibility of rain and you have taken with you a reliable raincoat with a hood to cover yourself with ...
You are walking towards the western quarter of the city...
You reflect on the strange invitation you recently received: "Perhaps Merchant Jodaz's version of the motives of those who sent me this invitation is indeed correct... But what if Jodaz is wrong? I should be careful at this party..."
As you walk through the eastern and central quarters of the city, you notice the rather worn and poor appearance of most of the houses of ordinary citizens... Almost all the houses are wooden... There are not many exceptions: a few commercial buildings that probably belong to wealthy merchants...
You're thinking something like, "At least I'll be able to enjoy free drinks and food at this party..."
Most of the passers-by you notice look like ordinary commoners dressed in poor cloth clothes... You also see several groups of city guards who patrol the nearby streets...
You notice how one of the guards grabs the hand of some dirty boy... The guard forces this boy to take out some valuable things that the boy tried to hide under his clothes...
You try to vigilantly observe the passers-by who are walking along the street next to you... You understand that pickpocketing in this city is not at all a rare occurrence...
You continue to walk along the streets of the evening city... You hear a variety of city noise: the trampling of the feet of passers-by, dogs barking, some drunkards swearing near the tavern, the creaking of merchants' carts being transported by horses along the pavement...
Twenty minutes later you are approaching your goal - you enter the western quarter... The houses in this quarter look much richer, many of these houses are not wooden but stone... And you also notice that there are much more city guards in this quarter than usual ...
You grin and think: “Obviously, the shitty nobles are afraid for the safety of their wealth. And that’s why in this elite quarter of the city there are twice as many guards as in the quarter where our caravan stopped...”
You ask one of the passers-by about where exactly the mansion of Baroness Linergarn is located.
The passerby, who looks like a human merchant, looks at you with some apprehension. He quickly tells you where you need to go and then he quickly disappears from sight...
You think: “Well, I’m lucky that this passer-by answered me at all... And didn’t immediately run away with a frightened cry, calling on the guards to protect him from the terrible orc robber!”
You continue on your way...
Finally, you have found the very building you need...
This building is a large, richly decorated, two-story structure that is located separately from other buildings in the area. This mansion is surrounded by a high stone fence. Near the entrance gate you notice guards in expensive steel armor and black and blue cloaks...
You feel for the invitation in your bag.
And then...
