You blow your imp whistle

The little iron whistle the imp gave you is still around your neck!

Maybe the imp can get you out of this situation. You just need to reach it with your hands and blow it.

You shift your body to shake the whistle loose of your clothes and reach your hands up and grab the tiny piece of iron, bring it up to your lips and blow. No sound comes out of the whistle. Maybe it broke when the hobgoblin dropped you on the cave floor?

You don't have long to think about it as the chiseling sound stops. The hobgoblin stands up and you hear him start to make his way over to you.

When he gets about half way across the cave, you hear a small puff behind you. The imp. It must be!

You hear a mighty roar answered with a ferocious shriek followed by the sounds of steel and small bursts of fire.

Their fight goes on behind you until you see the imp's body fall beside you, a short sword sticking out of his back. Soon after, you hear the hobgoblin fall to the ground, accompanied by the smell of burning flesh.

You shift yourself over to the imp and use his short sword to cut your bindings and free yourself.

You leave the cave and make you way back into the forest until you return to the path you were initially on.
