Chapter 7 by Trom1806 Trom1806

Fear is creeping deeper into your mind... What should you do?

You are trying to concentrate... You need to keep your fear under control... Panic will only make your situation worse...

You are trying to get your emotions under control. You must not panic, otherwise tragic consequences for you are likely to occur...

You find it difficult to abstract yourself from the fear that is increasingly penetrating your consciousness...

You are trying to comprehend your further actions: “While my father is away, I need to worry about my own safety... If I am alone, then I will have very little chance of surviving... What if this terrible monster is not alone and has accomplices? Who can I turn to? Who can help me?

You think about how you have been a frequent visitor to many taverns over the years. You clearly preferred good drinking and fun rather than systematic work, reading and training with weapons... You especially often visited the roadside tavern of the foreigner Trelaf, which is located near the western road, not far from the Hawk Hill estate... It is unlikely that among your drinking companions there will be reliable persons, who can help you... You also need to take into account that you will not be able to immediately explain to potential helpers the whole essence of the threat. After all, there is no guarantee that excessive publicity of the essence of the problem will not worsen your situation even more...

However, there is a chance that you will find some mercenaries in the tavern whose help may be useful to you. But their help will clearly require significant payment...

Additionally, another option comes to mind for you to seek help.

Since childhood, you have communicated with centaurs. This can be explained by your craving for new vivid impressions and extravagant entertainment...

You sometimes visited the nomadic camp of the local centaur tribe. You were attracted to these visits only by entertainment: you listened with interest to the tales of the centaurs about their travels across the steppe expanses, you bought some of their trophies, which the centaurs captured during raids on the nomadic camps of the steppe orcs...

And, of course, one of the important options for your pastime in this nomadic camp was parties, which were accompanied by copious amounts of ****...

Centaurs were one of the relict creatures, the number of which was extremely small compared to the main population of the continent, which included humans, orcs, dwarves, elves, lizardmans... The nomadic tribes of centaurs were a few communities that lived in the steppe regions along the western border of the Triune Kingdom Kuzos. Some of these tribes were allowed to roam the kingdom in exchange for paying tribute to the local feudal ruler and helping in constant border conflicts with the steppe tribes of the orcs. Now, to the south of the Hawk Hill estate, there was a nomadic camp of such a tribe of centaurs (they called themselves the “Bloody Hooves” tribe, their nomadic camp can be reached in two to three hours). You remembered that these centaurs will go on migration and leave the territory of the kingdom no earlier than in a week.

However, this option of seeking help also has disadvantages... Members of this tribe of centaurs perceived you as a human eccentric nobleman who wasted money...

Most of this tribe of centaurs clearly treated you with disdain. They tolerated you because you spent a lot of money in their nomadic camp...

Although, perhaps, some of the centaurs who were your drinking buddies are more kind to your personality...

The third option for finding help: you will go to the small temple of the True Sun cult, which is located on the hill north of the Hawk Hill estate. This is a rather small and poor temple.

This temple is located near the estate, you can walk there in a couple of hours.

However, you are sadly aware that it is likely that the priests will greet you with absolutely no goodwill...

You have rarely been to this temple (maximum - a couple of times a year for the ritual of Prayer to the Life-Giving Light).

You also remember your bad jokes on one of the priests of this temple... Now you think that you shouldn’t have poured slop from a bucket on this fat priest a couple of months ago... In your defense, we can say that you were drunk... And this fat priest with a double chin he squealed so funny...

Probably because of your behavior over the past few years, the rector of this temple, priest Mateos, considers you a stupid sinner... But what if you are lucky and he helps you in the current dangerous situation?

So what decision will you make? What should you do so that you can hold out on the estate until your father returns?
