You Wake Up

Your eyes flicker open. You are uncertain how much time has passed. Your head throbs. You notice the cells are empty.

You open the com link. “Markus?”

“This is Markus. What happened down there? We lost you for about fifteen minutes. We were about to go looking for you.”

“Vess has the weapon. All three somehow escaped.”

“Shit! You ok?”

“I think so. I’m headed back to you.”

Your head aches as you wind your way back to the bridge.

Markus gives you a kiss. For some reason the affection irritates you more than comforts you.

The caramel skinned girl with a cross exclaims. “Aye dios mio. Those monsters are loose!”

For some reason the girl, Rachel, bothers you.

“Computer, can you track any life signs for Vess Arias?”

Scanning, Vess Arias does not appear to be on the ship.

“What? Computer rescan.”

Vess Arias does not appear to be on the ship.

“Ouch!” You grab your stomache in pain.

“Mira, are you ok?”

“Fine, just a cramp.”

“Mira, let’s have the auto-med bay have a look.”

You give him a look which could kill. Of course he’s right. “Ok let’s head to the med bay.”
