The doctor’s image flickers slightly as the machine turns on.

He runs the head of the instrument along your body.

“Mira, have you felt sick, or anything unusual?”

“Aside from stomach pain, I feel great.”

“Can you feel this?”

A retractable cable gently pokes you on your right side.

“Yes. Why?”

“Interesting. You have a dead spot there. A spot with no cellular activity.”

“Am I ok?”

“Most likely, yes, you’re fine. These things can occur naturally in space travelers. However, we’ll want to keep an eye on it. Come back in a week, Mira.”

The hologram flickers and disappears.
