You turn to your pregnant mother. "If she doesn't make it home alive, there WILL be war. At least if she does, there is a chance there won't be war for my mistake. But even if there is war, the King and some of his finest troops may stay back to protect her if she is in the capital. If there must be a war for my blunder, we will need as few of their troops on the battlefield as possible."

Hoping for no war after what you did was as ludicrous as what you did in the first place. King Francois had his army preparing for war before Queen Ana's carriage safely returned to his capital. Your one mistake was enough to make King Francois overcome his fear of blood.

You are left with very few options. You could march your small **** out and attempt to save Duke Franz Jacques's domain by performing an enormous gamble all-or-nothing fight at the pass through the mountain. Or you could abandon Duke Franz Jacques's domain and fight a smaller, hit-and-run, drawn-out war.
