You're on your own

You step into the library, but neither see nor hear any signs of another person. For some reason the silence of the place intimidates you slightly and you don't call out, choosing to see what you can find on your own. You wander around the library, suddenly realising that you're unsure of exactly what you're looking for. Hoping to find the librarian, you search both floors but find no one.

Giving up, you find the computer room and go in, taking a seat at one of the machines near the back of the room. It boots up quickly and takes you to a home screen with several options. You select internet and start a Google search for any news stories involving Pink Rose within the last year.

You find several stories that don't seem to have any bearing on what you're looking for. An open house at the school, reporting on athletic events, and an editorial commenting on the archaic '**** auction' of students to raise money for charity. The latter gives you momentary interest, but on closer reading it turns out to be a fundraising event that has been going on since the Second World War, with students auctioned off to do things like wash cars, bake brownies and the like.

You broaden your search and find a few more similar stories, then one buried deep on the second page of results.

'Train **** Ruled Accidental' is the headline, and the story reports a coroner's verdict that the **** of one Veronica Samuels by being struck by a freight train, is accidental. Veronica Samuels is identified as a student at Pink Rose Academy.

Searching now on Veronica Samuels, and trains you find earlier stories reporting that she fell in front of a train, apparently falling from an overpass. The earliest stories say that the police have not ruled out foul play, while later stories make no such mention. Veronica is identified as a student at Pink Rose and the daughter of a wealthy industrialist.

Veronica Samuels. This must be the Ronnie that Chantel mentioned last night, that had the other girls cringing and uncomfortable. You look at the date of her **** and find that it was in spring of this year. You sit back, thinking that it was well within the abilities of Tony Dogs to throw a girl in front of a train, and well within Vincent Maglio's character to order it done. And have it covered by the shroud of accidental **** afterwards.

You give your head a little shake. I could really have been an accident. Or a suicide, with the family covering it up with pressure on the coroner to declare an accident. It could have nothing to do with Theresa Maglio at all.

Nothing at all, except Chantel mentioning Ronnie and Theresa almost in the same sentence last night.
