The Library

You start to calm down as you climb the stairs to the library, your stomach moving from nauseous to queasy to something almost stable. You have no doubt at all what Vinnie Mags and his people were capable of, and what they would do to you if they caught or even suspected you of betrayal. Tony Dogs had been blunt about what had happened to the teacher last year and you knew he was capable of worse, much worse if Vinnie let him off the chain.

But you know they aren't telling you everything they know, and how much of what they are telling you is true you cannot be sure. You're prepared to act as an informer for the mob boss, especially since you have not choice, but you'd like to get as much information as you can before you find your nuts irrevocably in a vise.

The library may not be ideal, but it's a place to start. You know your limitations as a researcher, but with any luck the librarian will be there, and maybe she can help you out.
