Chapter 5 by HiBeGi HiBeGi

Which of the two of you will be breaking the rules?

You'll Be the Rule Breaker of this Story

You let out a mighty yawn as you stepped into your precalc class, your eyes feeling heavy as they scanned the near-empty classroom. You had arrived early, meaning there were only a few people in the room, one of whom was Amy, much to your surprise given that she often skipped this class, only managing to pull off a decent grade by showing up for the tests. She gave you a finger gun as soon as you walked in, meaning she wanted your attention for something. Walking over to your assigned seat, you slung your backpack off of your shoulder and placed it underneath your desk before walking over to the Fun Lover. The fluorescent lights and the pale white walls of the classroom stung your eyes, causing you to rub them and emit another yawn. "Careful, those are contiguous." Amy commented on your exhaustion with a smirk on her face.

"Don't even fucking pretend that you aren't five seconds away from passing out." You replied as you mopped your hair back, "Also, why are you here? Not that I'm against it; I'm just worried that it might be the end of the world." You continued, placing your hands on your hips and leaning back in to crack your back.

Amy placed an arm on her desk and leaned against her hand, her smirk not fading. "Oh, you're right that I'm tired, but something just came up and it's giving me enough energy to be here so that I can give you the news." The Fun Lover began to explain herself, which only got an eyebrow raised from you.

"News? Since it's from you, I feel like I should be scared." You quipped as you rubbed the back of your neck.

"Pussy." Amy remarked, attempting to bait you into continuing the conversation, which worked since you aren't scared of anything that isn't a spider or turkey.

You planted you elbow down onto Amy's desk, you arms nearly touching hers as you rested you chin on top your fists. "Alright then, what's new pussycat?"

Amy chortled slightly, "Who are you? Tom Jones?"

"Tom Jones wishes he was me." You joked before snapping your fingers and performing a finger gun with your index finger and thumb, pointing at Amy in order to indicate that you wanted her to get on with what she wanted to tell you.

"There's some new students walking around the building." Amy leaned in close to your face, her smirk turning into a toothy smile. You leaned back slightly to put some distance between you and Amy, blushing slightly after having been so close. "I was hanging out in the hallway when these two girls, who I've never seen in my life, walked up to me. It was some short Asian chick and some bald black woman."

You lifted an eyebrow up again, "...That's it?" You questioned, not understand the big deal about this news. "Two new students, so what?"

"Two new people to mess around with!" Amy beamed. Your face became deadpan. So, that's why she was so excited. "And I've already started! The Asian chick was having issues finding one of her class and asked me for directions, and take guess who purposely gave her the wrong ones." Amy pointed both her thumbs at herself as she continued to smile.

"Uh, and what do you gain out of that?" You asked, not really understanding Amy's motive behind this, though given who she was, she was probably just doing it for the heck of it. "More importantly why should I care?" You inquired, disregarding you previous question.

Amy smirked and stood up, leaning in close, "Come on, two new girls around walking around and your gonna pretend like you don't care?" Amy teased with a wink.

Your face shifted into annoyance. "Do you think I only have women on my mind?" Amy opened her mouth to respond, "Don't answer th-" You quickly cut Amy off before she even got a chance to say anything, only for you to be interrupted by someone scarping their chair across the floor in an annoyingly loud fashion. You wiped your body around to face the direction in which the noise came from. You let out a huff in annoyance. Did they really need to make a scene in order to get in their seat- Wait just a fucking minute, that's your seat!

There was someone sitting at your desk, much to your surprise and annoyance. Quickly making your way over, you got a better look at the student sitting at your assigned seat. He was an Asian man you didn't recognize, and he was probably also the most handsome dude you laid eyes on. He was rather tall and muscular, with a smooth face with sharp features; his only blemishes were a small scar near his lower lip and another over his right eyebrow. His hair and eyes were the usual colour, being white and purple, respectively. Poking out of his mouth was a lollipop stick, which shifted in his mouth as he stared forward. He was wearing a sleeveless white shirt that clung tightly to his chest and exposed his midriff; the lower sections of his top were patterned with golden clouds. He wore black traditional, baggy hanfu trousers that had red Desmoxytes embroidered onto the legs. His pants legs were rolled up slightly, showing off the full length of his black Xue boots. His hands were adorned with a series of rings on each finger, and he had a pearl earring on his left ear and a jade one on his right. Looking back at his mouth, you could see that his canines were missing, being replaced with fake golden ones. Following the millipede of his pants, he had a tattoo that seemed to start on the right side of his muscular abdomen and wrap around to the left side of his neck. He sucked on his lollipop as he sat in your chair with his feet planted on top of your desk, one foot crossed over the other.

Your eyes narrowed slightly as you stared at this random heartthrob who just stole your seat. "Damn, who's the heartthrob?" You heard Amy comment from behind you, having gotten up from her seat upon seeing the extravagantly dressed man take a seat at your desk.

"Don't read my mind." You responded

"What?" Amy quirked a brow at you

"What?" You replied back, acting as if you hadn't said anything. Immediately deciding to change the subject. You placed your focus back on the man at your desk, who still wasn't paying you any attention despite standing beside him to his right. It seemed not even Amy's comment had drawn his attention, even though he was within earshot of it. You cleared your throat in an attempt to get his attention, but even still, he looked forward. Deciding to just try a direct approach, you began to talk to him, "Uh, hey, your-" you began, but were so interrupted by the white-haired teen taking his feet off the desk and planting them down on the ground so hard that he practically stomped them with the way it felt like the whole room shook. In the same action, he leaned forward and faced you.

"你好嗎?" He greeted with a toothy smile on his face, his purple eyes gazing into yours.

"Oh, I-I don't speak Chinese." You stated while awkwardly rubbing the back of your head. You didn't know much except for a few basic phrases, and you didn't recognize the one he had just said, so you weren't too sure what to do here. Well, you didn't know what to do until he suddenly pulled the lollipop out of his mouth and pointed it at you. The blue piece of hard candy was so close to your face, it would've been practically touching you, had you not taken a step back.

His hands were like a blur; they had moved so fast that you thought he had swung a fist at you. You didn't even see him take the lollipop out of his mouth; the only thing you had seen was something darting toward your face, which had caused you to move out of the way of it. The toothy smile on his face turned into a toothy grin. "Cantonese! As you'd call it." the white-haired man corrected, an air of superiority present in his voice as he did so. His voice had a slight Chinese accent to it; you'd almost mistake it for something you'd hear in the States had you not been listening closely. He then plopped the blue lollipop back into his mouth, his grin not fading.

You've known this man for about five seconds, and he's already outdone Alena in terms of eccentricity. "...Right, well, I just came by to tell you that the desk you're currently sitting at is mine. So, if you don't mind, could you get up from it?" You asked him, trying to come off as polite despite having been slightly off put by his flair.

The man chuckled while resting his arm on the head of the chair as he turned his entire body toward you, crossing his left leg over his right knee as he did so. "And who are you to claim what has not yet been claimed?" he stated.

.... Guess he did mind, "What?" You muttered in confusion, his words not fully setting in yet. As the man opened his mouth again, most likely to restate his previous statement, you quickly interrupted him, "I didn't- I didn't claim anything. This is a seat assigned to me by the, you know, teacher." You began to explain to him.

The white-haired man bit down hard on the stick of the lollipop, and he gave his widest smile yet. "Oh, and do you have proof of this?" he asked, cocking his head to the side like he was cute or something.

You stood there in silence, gobsmacked, as you stared at the extravagant man in pure confusion. Did this motherfucker ask you "Source?" in response to you telling him to get out of your seat? You could hear Amy behind you chuckling the whole time, finding this whole confrontation to be entertaining. You sputtered slightly as you tried to find the right words. You glanced over to the teacher's desk; they had yet to walk into the room, despite class starting in five minutes. So, that was just great. You couldn't get the teacher to move him, which meant you'd have to do it yourself. You rubbed the bridge of your nose in annoyance before realizing something. Your bag.

You looked down; there it was, still resting underneath your desk, where you had left it when you first entered the room. "My bag!" You shouted, pointing downward at it, getting not only the man's attention but also that of everyone else in the room. You blushed slightly from all the attention before clearing your throat. "M-My bag is underneath the desk, which means I 'claimed' it before you did, right? That makes sense, right?" You explained, trying to reason with him using his own logic.

"I see." The white-haired student muttered, seeming to ponder what you said. He juggled the lollipop in his mouth for a bit before giving you that same damned toothy smile again. He then picked up your bookbag and placed it in your arms so fast that he practically threw it at you. You let out a grunt in both pain and due to the strain of the sudden weight in your arms, which the man ignored. "I've returned your belongings! In favour, I'll be taking your seat." The man proclaimed it, beaming with a hint of innocence. He then went back to ignoring you, kicking his feet back on top of your desk, going back to sucking on his lollipop, and staring off into space.

You stood there in silence, your eyes nearly closed from how much you narrowed your eyelids. You could not believe the audacity of this man. Given that you'd never seen him before, he was probably a new student, maybe another like the two Amy had mentioned earlier. Speaking of which, you could hear Amy hysterically laughing now, guess she doesn't have any regrets about coming to class today.

Having had enough of this man, you placed your bag on the floor and walked up close to him, "Okay, first of all, fuck off. Second of all, get your boots off my desk, dude. I work there." You whined, placing a hand on the closest boot in an attempt to push them off. As soon as you did this, you heard a loud crunch and the sound of the chair scraping once more; you then felt something touch your shoulder, waist, and ankle before- Oh hey, the ceiling was on the floor and the floor was on the ceiling....What?

You let out a loud grunt of pain as your back crashed into the tile floor. You were stunned, not even sure what the hell just happened. Time seemed to slow down as you tried to figure out what had just happened. And then it hit you. You picked yourself off the ground and whipped your head around to face the man, who was now standing. You were now to his left; he had thrown you. Despite this fact, the man didn't seem too interested in you and was currently looking down at the lollipop stick in his hand. The stick no longer had the full piece of hard candy on it, but instead small chunks that clung onto it. "Ah man, I can never finish these properly." The man whined to himself in annoyance, a disheartened look in his eyes for a second. Which then soon vanished as he sucked the remaining chunks off the stick before accurately flicking the stick into the trash can from where he was standing.

"The fuck is your problem!" You shouted at him, now both fully annoyed and pissed off. The white-haired man smiled as he turned to you, reaching into his pocket as he did so.

"I do as I please, for I am the only one that can determine my actions." The man proclaimed with excitement, pulling out another lollipop from his pocket and tearing off its wrapper; it was red this time. He then plopped the fresh lollipop in his mouth, childlike delight taking over his face.

He had said that shit as if it were meant to be the coolest shit you had ever heard. Thoroughly unimpressed, you glared at the man, pissed off more than ever. Your hands balled into fists as your brows furrowed, which the man took notice of, his eyes darting down to your fists before scanning your face again. "Oho, you wanna do this?" There was a hint of excitement in his voice as he moved away from your chair.

"Oh shit!" You hear Amy yell from across from you, the Fun Lover reaching into her jacket pocket and pulling out her phone, "Make it entertaining!" She shouted at the both of you. You gave your friend a deadpan look in disbelief while the man turned to her and gave her a thumbs up before turning back to you.

You had no plans on fighting this dude, no matter how pissed off you were at him. "You threw me!" You shouted in defense.

"And you touched me without my permission." He responded, his tone innocent as he seemingly believed his own words. You grinded your teeth together in annoyance. This dude could not be serious right now.

You went to curse him out but were soon interrupted by Crystal bursting into the classroom. "There you are!" She screeched as she stormed up to the white-haired student. "What is going on in here?" the Control Freak demanded.

Not wanting to get into trouble, you decided to lie. "Nothing-"

"We were going to fight!" The man proudly interrupted.

"NO!" You cried out in fear and surprise. Was this man trying to get you killed?! Crystal looked like she seconds away from having an out burst though seemed to calm herself down slightly by taking a deep breath. Nonetheless, she was still fuming.

Crystal reached into her pocket and pulled out her notebook and pen. "You are in so much trouble. First you sneak out of orientation-" She chastised him as she began to write him up.

In the middle of her beratement, the man decided to speak up, which only further shocked you. He had no idea who he was talking to, did he? "I walk whatever path that pleases me, for I am the only one that-" he started.

As a voice of authority, Crystal wasn't a fan of being interrupted, and as such, she quickly spoke over him to continue reprimanding him. "On your first day here, you get into a fight!"

"Technically, we didn't fight." You murmured, rubbing your back, which was throbbing in pain.

"And you," Crystal pointed on accusing finger in your direction. "I have no expectation for you, but at the least you should be better than this." the Control Freak chastised while writing something down in her notebook.

You winced at the sight and decided that the best course of action would be to act pathetic. "Come on Crystal, there's no need to do that." You begged. "Is there really a need to give me detention." you clasped your hands together and gave an innocent smile, you doubted that it would work, but it was worth a try.

Crystal narrowed her eyes while looking you up and down. "Well, you still need to be punished, but if you don't want detention, then how about I put you to work?"

"Put me to work?" You repeated. That seemed quite troublesome but as long as it didn't eat into your after-school time then it would probably be better than spending a couple of hours in a near empty classroom. You rubbed your chin in contemplation while you watched Crystal hand the white-haired student his detention slip and a purple slip of paper. She then faced you.

"Because of that troublemaker," she motioned over to the man without looking at him, The man in question was currently tearing his detention slip to shreds; once he was finished, he threw them in front of him, letting them rain down like confetti. This, of course, got an excited reaction from Amy. Ignoring both of them, Crystal continued, "I had to stop orientation to go track him down, and in the process I had forgotten to hand these out," the hall monitor explained as she held up nine purple slips, the same that she just handed to the white-haired student. "Rather than keeping them waiting in the auditorium, I let the new students out, and you're going to help me out by finding them and handing these to them while I take care of other business." She placed the slips in your hands. Now you could see what she was doing, she was forking over the work she found beneath her onto you. "That is, unless you want detention."

You waved the purple slips in your hand a bit, "No, no. I'll do your job for you. I'll dedicate my heart and soul to it." You sarcastically remarked.

Crystal gives you an offended look, "I'm a busy person, but even then I'll still be assisting you with this task." Crystal reached into her pocket and handed you a piece of paper, "We'll be splitting up to cover more ground. If you do a good job then I may consider not giving you detention."

"Fine, fine." You reply back before looking at the piece of paper she just handed you; it was folded.

Crystal then turned her attention over to the white-haired student, "As for you, you're coming with me." She demanded, "You're not even supposed to be in here." Your head immediately shot up to look at them. Your eyes widened like they had never widened before.

HE WASN'T EVEN IN THIS CLASS??!??!?!?

You ran a hand through your hand so hard that you almost ripped out a few chunks. You were going to lose your mind. Your entire confrontation with that man was a complete and utter waste of time. That absolute bastard. You stared him down, your eyes and their veins bulging out. "I fucking love this guy!" You heard Amy shout.

"Is that so? Then where am I needed?" The white-haired student asked.

"Since your transcript says that you have all your requirements filled, besides the mandated English and gym classes, you only have electives; the one you have currently is poetry." Crystal explains, clearly annoyed by his eccentrics.

The man makes an excited noise, the lollipop in his mouth nearly falling out. "Now that's exciting!" He states, crossing his arms over his head and heading out the door.

"Do you even know where you're going?" Crystal shouts as she follows him out the door.

Still seething, you decide to take a look at the paper, unfolding it. It looked like a roster sheet that had been printed out with a series of names and information corresponding to them. It seemed to be one for the new students. Just wanting to know the important information, you skimmed the first few rows and, upon doing so, realized each was a foreigner.

You let out a sigh in frustration; a long day was ahead of you; you hadn't expected there to be ten, or, you guess, just nine to find. Let's hope the rest weren't as bizarre as... You looked down at the sheet again in order to read his name again, Han.

Who is the student you find next?
