Captain Short was nervous. He should be. For days his flight crews had vanished in the middle of one of friendly territory, landed and supposedly safe. It wasn’t just a few helicopters. He’d lost almost a hundred pilots from each branch. The General staff were threatening to sack and court martial him if he couldn’t find them fast.

Using local and military police, he followed their trails as closely as he could, but they almost always went cold immediately. He rubbed his eyes and looked at the port from his office window. The morning breakfast service was about to finally start. Maybe today he’d finally have some luck.
