Chapter 6 by The Night
Will Amethyst escape?
Yes
Panther was right. Struggling made me sink faster. After the three cat ladies had left, I went back to trying to get myself out of this vat of gunk but my struggles only caused me to sink faster. By the time I stopped my efforts, the gunk was already up to my chest. I stayed as still as possible. I sank slower but I could still feel myself going under. I tried calling out for help but it was no use. It was 11 at night. No one was going to be in the building at this hour.
There had to be someway I could get out of this. I started ruffling through my utlitly belt. My knifes for escaping bondage weren't going to do me any good. The flashlight and camera might help someone find my corpse. God I wish I had a budget for a Batman style infinate storage belt. Then my hand brushed the can of mace....mace.....mace is made of chemicals. Panther said the stuff in this vat was made from improper mixing of chemicals. Maybe the chemicals in the mace would effect it somehow. It was a long shot but the gunk was up to my chin. I didn't have time to think of a better plan.
I took the mace in my hand and started spraying. I sprayed until the can was empty. Nothing. I guess this was the end. Then all of a sudden, I dropped below the surface. The gunk had thined out and was now like water. I kicked my feet as hard as I could and shot to the surface. I managed to get myself on dry land with my feet still the vat. With my hands still cuffed behind my back and the whip binding my arms. I couldn't get myself out completely.
After a few minutes of fumbling, I managed to the lockpicks out of my belt and started trying to undo my cuffs. I must have hassled with it for about thirty minutes before I finally got em off. After that, it was simply a matter of uncoiling the whip from around my torso. Thankfully Leopard hadn't tied a knot with it.
Leopard! She wrote something on a piece of paper before she left. I ran over to the table where it was at a found a note. It said:
Dear Amethyst,
If you are reading this, that means you were able to escape. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. It's a shame we couldn't have gotten to know each other a little better. My friends are such party poopers. Anyway, I'll be swinging by the science building again tomorrow night to see if you got this note. Maybe I'll see you then.
Love Leopard XXOO
I crumpled up the note and threw it in the trash. I grumbled to myself. I should have stayed hidden. I could have at least followed the three back to their hideout. Instead, I'm standing in the middle of the science room covered in gunk. My only lead was the note from Leopard. I'll have to come back tomorrow and see if I can either get some information out of her or follow here to her base. That can wait till tomorrow night though. Right now I need a shower.
What happens tomorrow night?
