Chapter 5 by AddickTara
Do you shake his hand?
Yes
You reach and shake his hand as firmly and confiently as you can, his dark skin glistening in the morning light.
Your eyes linger on his arms for a moment too long before you **** yourself to look away. “Well, he’s welcome in mine anytime. You’ve got a real charmer here.”
Tyrone chuckled, his gaze locking with yours. There was something in his eyes—a mix of curiosity and confidence that made your stomach flutter. “You’re pretty charming yourself,” he said, his tone low and teasing.
You feel a blush creeping up your neck. You're not used to compliments, especially not from someone so young and undeniably attractive. “Flattery will get you everywhere,” you joke, though your voice came out softer than you intended.
Max barked again, breaking the tension, and the teen laughed. “Mind if I hop in and grab him? He’s a bit of a handful.”
“Sure,” you said. Tyrone slid into the passenger seat, his presence filling the small space instantly. He smelled like fresh soap and something subtly spicy, and you feel your heart racing as your arms brushed.
He reached for Max but the dog dodged him, climbing into the backseat instead. “Come on, buddy,” the teen said with mock exasperation, turning around to try again.
You watch him desperately trying to retrieve his dog, his efforts almost comical.
Eventually getting him round the scruff of the neck Tyrone pulled his dog out of the car, breathing heavily and sweating at the mini workout.
What do you say?

Life of the Divorcee
It begins
After many years of marriage, Brenda Barker never imagined she’d be starting over. But when her husband ditches her after she's caught cheating at the local health spa Brenda is left with a modest house, an overgrown garden, and a long-overdue reckoning with who she really is. What begins as a shaky stumble into singlehood—burnt dinners, awkward solo brunches, and tearful nights with wine and reruns—soon becomes a bold exploration of self. With the unexpected help of her two teenage sons, and new neighbours, Brenda rediscovers not just joy, but a version of herself she hadn’t seen in decades.
