Chapter 5 by Master Haug Master Haug

Is the Core gone?

Yes

Damaskinos opened his eyes to see the large crystal orbs gone from his hands, disappeared into the Palace of Nix via the connection supplied by his Core. He smiled thinking of how happy Carnachias probably was from having received his gift earlier than anticipated. The Flesh Mother was always on the run testing one project or the other, her eyes always sparkling with the thought of uncovering new ways to bend genetics and biology to her perverse wills. His current Devil form had been entirely her own idea, and he quite liked it to say the least.

The Imp was awaken from reminiscence by the sound of approaching growls and howls. A pack of wolves had smelled the defeated Boar and was swiftly approaching trying to intimidate him off his prey. Unfortunately, they were but normal animals and not magical beasts, and besides keeping lunch he would win nothing from this fight except creating more evidence of his presence. He called upon his divinity and opened his mouth:

"Wait"

The wolves stopped on their tracks, none of them able to resist the Command of a Champion of the Dark. While the divine spell was in effect Damaskinos quickly started casting a new spell and took flight invisible once again, leaving behind some very scared and confused wolves. He circled for a bit waiting for them to take to the prey and erase away with their hunger the telling marks of his **** before he took flight up the mountains in search of a place to establish his base in.

If things proceeded according to plan, it would be many months before he made his way out of this valley and started putting into practice the plans he made with his Goddesses, and he intended to spend as much of that in comfort as he devilishly could. A warm current came rising towards the mountains and he felt its gentle touch on his wings, like a blessing compelling him forward in his search for a new home.

He turned on his back mid flight, and looked down unto the brightly lit valley, and smiled. This was what he would wake to every morning, and the multitude of colors blessed by spring started melting away his memories of hospital beds and the ever present white. The world was beautiful and he was healthy, that is all that matters.

Does he find a place to call home?
