Chapter 8 by Nathaniel Keam Nathaniel Keam

Does Skyler Follow Roxanne?

Yes

Skyler rolled onto her front as the shock of the ball colliding with her face wore off. It was more of a shock than genuine pain. But it had been enough to make her depart from the world for a short time.

She caught the first look at her now exposed shirt sleeve for the first time and wondered what the hell happened. Then she gritted her teeth. That was a designer blazer. She’d used a larger-than-anticipated portion of her money to deck out her wardrobe for this job. Had that bitch seriously taken that away from her?

Skyler picked up the discarded sleeve that Roxanne had left behind to confirm as such. Scrunching it up in her hand, she threw it at the ground. Now she was pissed, and now she was going after that anti-social punk. It had started to dawn on her why she was tasked with taking her down a peg. That was exactly what was needed.

But, first, she had to get hold of her before she could deliver the medicine.

Skyler followed Roxanne through the gleaming kitchen. No sign of her, but the door was open on the other side. Sadly, no lights, so she couldn’t see much of anything. But she figured that Roxanne had to be in there.

She took out her phone and illuminated the torch app. Angling it toward the dark room, she saw nothing but an empty garage. Everything looked normal to her.

Skyler twisted her body around the corner and fumbled for the switch. Giving it a flick, the main garage light sprung to life, filling the space with artificial fluorescence. Immediately, she didn’t see anything that looked out of place. Not even a tripwire to **** her to tumble down the stairs.

She figured that Roxanne must have gone through a room on the other side. There was no way she’d leave herself so exposed here. Sans one sleeve, Skyler climbed down the three stairs and into the garage proper.

Is Roxanne Inside the Garage?
