You reach in the box and shuffle around until you see the device and pull it out. You tuck it away on your person and reorganize the files and box. You then scurry over and slip back in to the hidden passage, you then quickly run to the access hatch and out of the cave. As you exit the cave a set of hands pull on your clothes as you are thrown back. Your friends surround you and inform you of the situation, they arrested all the people and are being interrogated. They managed to slip the car away and hid out behind the rocks. You all get back in the car and wait out the search and drive off back to the city. You dont tell them about what you found or what you took. When you get back to your place you knock out. After a couple of weeks you stay quiet, and let everything calm down after the chaos from the raid. You finally remember the device and think.
