You glance at the drinks and return to business. Once you’re back at the table, you set the laced cups down in front of the girls and return to your seat. Scarlet is the first one to shotgun hers, which Alexandra soon follows.

Then, you say something that tickles Scarlet into a laugh without meaning to. It was a bad pun, but paired with her slight buzz, it seems to have triggered into a fit of happiness.

At first, she’s the only one at the table who laughs, but almost like Alexandra just got it, she begins to laugh too. Scarlet glances at her and knits her brow, inquiring why she’s laughing too.

Alexandra looks puzzled at first but then looks irritated. “I don’t know. I just feel… like I should be laughing.”

Their expressions match; you wonder if the effects are starting to kick in. However, it also looks like Alexandra is the only one under the influence.
