Yes, you make it

Your dorm is a bit of a hike from the twins' so you only have enough time to change and grab a granola bar from you snack supply you bought previously.

You heard over to the arena for the first women's hockey meeting and meet Jackie and Josie by the entrance.

"Glad you made it" says Josie cheerfully. Jackie rolled her eyes but then added "probably for the best for you. Coach is a big teddy bear underneath but the team captain is a hard ass."

You nod in acknowledgement and follow the girls to the locker room and pause outside it before Jackie pulls you inside. "Come on nerd, you can't be our manager if you don't...come inside." Josie giggles the innuendo.

The three of you arrive in the nice and clean locker room. You assume the team captains are the ones huddled up front with the assistant coaches. You think about introducing yourself as you don't know anyone except the twins when a door leading to the coaches offices open and the head coach walks out.

Coach Henderson is an older man, somewhere in his 60s you think. He was previously an assistant coach with the men's team but switched over to take the vacant head coaching job when his daughter was on the team. She had since graduated at was off playing in the WHL but he kept the head coaching job.

He talks about the teams general rules, their training plan and schedule. Mentions that he thinks they have a talented roster with real shot of making a title run, to which everyone cheers. Then he takes everyone on a tour of the facility, much to the complaint of the returning players but they all come along nonetheless.

At some point you get tossed a set of keys and are shown where the equipment room is. It was left in disarray by the previous manager who seemingly had raged quit, or was terrible at their job. You're also told that you have an office well a closet, and access to the coach locker room.

After the meeting the coaches head out as the next scheduled event is a captains practice. A tall brown haired girl, you can't tell much more about her as she's wearing baggy clothes and says "All right ladies, I'm Kimberly Smith, team captain for the year. We were hoping to start the season with a scrimmage but our backup goalie got stuck in Canada for the day due to her flight getting cancelled. So instead we are going to work on endurance. Hope you all like killers!"

There's grumbling and protests and Josie shouts out "well what about him," pointing to you "he plays goalie."

The captains whisper to each other and Kimberly nods "I think we have some spare goalie pads that'll fit you. What do you say? Are you game?"

You're exhausted from last night and haven't eaten or showered yet. Plus you need to organize that trashed equipment room. Still, playing hockey is way more fun than cleaning up.
