Chapter 13 by Debbuger Debbuger

Does her plan work?

Yes, until it doesn't

I always liked to dress plainly, usually a basic colour shirt and pants. Today was no different, just a dark red button up shirt and grey jeans. My sister had a black dress with a pattern of red chested birds on it, she liked her dresses to cling to her figure and show off her curves, the deeper the cleavage, the better. But the favorite part was concealing her tattoos just enough, that no one who looked at her could guess they are there, but those who looked closely enough could see hints of them. Her shoulder tattoos were hidden beneath the dress, the poison ivy climbing up from between her shoulder blades to the back of her neck obscured by her hair. You could see hints of a flower peeping beneath her dress on her thigh, just a petal or two. For any onlookers, regardless of their sex, first thing they noticed was her eyes, she could hypnotise anyone with just a single look. Then they would notice her figure, she was powerful, but her body looked more like an athletic sporty girl than of a body builder, and somehow all of that muscle fit into that almost hourglass shape of hers. The next thing the onlooker noticed was of course her breasts, her almost gravity defying breasts. But no one saw the intricate web of the tattoos she has on her back and sides, how every tattoo is connected, some by poison ivy circling the images, some by strands of magic or smoke, and everything was converging around a painted portrait of our mother from when she was young, dressed as a victorian noblewoman. They only could guess by small hints, a tiny leaf between her bra strap to her dress, a petal, a small line running on the back of her arm.

And that summed her up pretty well, there was always something beneath the surface with her, with only small clues scattered around for someone sharp enough to notice, be it the tattoos beneath her clothes, or the schemes behind those silvery eyes. She will use her looks so that any one trapped in her web would do anything she pleases. She would use her voice to command people to do things they would never had done for anyone else. She would use her intellect to find what to push, if by some reason you didn't fall for her charms. So if she has something in her sights, and there is someone she can use to reach her goal, she will get it. And now her target donned the shape of a dark haired, blue eyed man, one of the wealthiest and powerful men in Gotham. She saw him talking to some other older men. Trying to study his movements, trying decipher his words she read from his lips, just to give her another edge over him when she will approach him.

"Robins?" said a man in his mid-twenties. Helena didn't see him appear and looked at him baffled. "The birds on your dress, those are robins, right?" The man said pointing to her dress. He was a young man, black hair, blue eyes, almost a young copy of her target. "I'm Dick" the man said. Helena laughed "Girls usually find out a man is a dick afterwards, you know. But it's nice to know in advance, it means I won't be mad at you when we are done." She said laughingly, of course she knew who it was. His name was Dick Grayson, and he was an orphan Bruce Wayne took in, same as she wished would happen to her, not being adopted, but still. "Oh... I have to think about it in the future, and who are you? I don't remember ever seeing you in one of these things". He had a nice voice, a confident tenor voice which just spilled gently from his lips and wrapped around her softly. It was clear she might have some fun with him, and even though she didn't plan on it, he can be her tool as well in her goal. I doubt she planned any of it, we weren't aware this event will happen or who will be in it. Unless she knew somehow, or maybe she just planned it on the fly, opportunities tend to present themselves to the silver eyed fox. "I'm Monique, and I am being punished by my father, so I have to be here." She said, giving just enough to make it sound like truth, but enough room to escape if the man knows the spoiled brat whose name she was borrowing. "Ah, you're the Silberschwert representative, some of the women on the charity think your family bailed on us, well, good to finally meet you. I'm sorry it didn't happen sooner" the man said, assuring Helena she's good to go.

She took the drink I brought her, for some reason she was right, act as you belong and no one will ever ask. I just went to the bar, asked for drinks, gave the bartender a don't fuck with me look and took off with my haul. "Hey, I'm Dick" the current subject of my sister's plot extended a hand. "Hey, I'm a nice guy for a change" I said I shook his hand firmly. "See? it's not just with the ladies, but the guys as well. Pick a new starting line. Anyway, this is my brother, Ethan" Helena said as she put a hand on my shoulder, that comment relieved Dick. "I always wondered, how did Richard become Dick? It always bothered me" and my question was sincere, I really couldn't understand it.

"Richard comes from old german, meaning hard-ruler" said a third man in a deep voice. Helena and I didn't notice him until he appeared behind us, the owner of the deep voice, and also the subject of Helena's current plot, was the playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne. "So a harsh ruler became a dick and it stuck?" Helena asked the man who now took to the side of Dick. "Actually, no. Dick became a synonym for penis only in the past two centuries. No, Dick was a shorten Richard because people didn't want to write long names or use too much space on printing presses. The same way Robert became Bob, or William became Bill." he paused, clearly assessing us both and trying to read us. "So pure laziness... Figured. Oh, Bruce, these are Ethan and Monique Silberschwert" the young man told his older more commanding version. "You're Daniel's kids, really?" the deep voiced man said as he extended his hand. "Great to see you, Ethan I don't think I saw you since you were about four or five years old, and now you are a tall well-built man. And Monique, the last time I saw you, you were in a stroller at your aunt's wedding. And now, wow, look what a beauty you have become", and I was sure I imagined it, but I could see my sister blushing. I was amazed by how good an actor she was.

"How is dear old Daniel? We haven't seen him in Gotham for some years now" the dark-haired man continued. "You know, he bought some pharmacy in Russia so he's always there now." she said in a slightly different voice than she usually uses, a bit more easy going and bratty. "He bought a pharmaceutical, not a pharmacy" I corrected her, clearly reading this was my line according to her script, even if she thought of that script only just now. "Oh, shut up, who cares. He has his things to do, I have my things to do, so who cares?" she lashed at me. "And what things do you have to do here?" came the inevitable question, just per her plan. "Daddy wants me to get a degree. And I don't want to study anything boring like accounting, so I'm here to find some easy courses I can take. Also, because someone forgot that you are not allowed to park in disabled parking spots in Marseille and let a million-dollar car get towed, dad punished Ethan by making him go to this event." She complained, clearly waiting for someone to save her and show her the way. "Kill two birds with one stone? Sure does sound like Daniel" Bruce chuckled.

From his side came an olive-skinned woman and gave him a peck on the cheek. Clearly a hole in Helena's plan, "Sarah sent me to find you, she wants to make sure you have the final draft of your speech" The brown-haired woman said as her hazel eyes met with his deep blue ones. "Yes, tell her not to worry." The dark-haired man returned. "I will remind you I'm not a courier for any of you. Also, I have thrown people into cells for less. If she continues to think I work for her, I don't know what I will do to the woman." The woman said. You could see she is not someone you want to be in her path, that she can tear down walls with her rage. "Don't worry Sonia, also where is the Commissioner? I need to talk with him before I go up" This spelled trouble for me, I tried signaling Helena we should back up and retreat. "Do you all think I work for you? I mean Jim, sure. but the rest of you?" the woman scoffed, "Anyway, here he is, speaking of the devil" she finished as I could hear a very familiar voice saying goodbyes to someone behind us. "Bruce!" the Commissioner called "I was looking for you" he said as he came from my side and shook the billionaire’s hand. "Heck, it seems you are responsible for the employment of all my family, Barbara was just asked will she accept managing the library you built here", The mustached commissioner said, still not noticing me. I knew the only way he will notice me will be if I walk away just now, like dinosaurs, older men see only movement. May be if I stay still and not attract attention he will continue not noticing me. "That is great, how is Babs these days Commissioner?" The billionaire asked, it was clear the men knew eachother well. "She's doing fine, her team won the murderball game against Metropolis yesterday" and then the thing I feared happened, as he shook Dick's hand he looked around the other members of our small circle. First of course noticing me sister, seeing the silver in her eyes. And a moment later seeing the same colour in my own eyes, as his green eyes widened as he recognised me.

"Great seeing you again Adam, and I'm guessing this is your younger sister? Surely a sight to behold" the mustached man said as he shook my hand. " And I see you already met captain Alcana, that is great, have you guys had the chance to talk yet?" and like that everything came falling down, for some reason it didn't seem to bother Helena, but for me it was a nail in the coffin. "No, what do you mean Jim? What do we have to talk about?" Captain Sonia Alcana asked the Commissioner, ”This is Lieutenant Lisov, I told about" the white-haired man told the Captain. "I thought you were still screening him, that you will give us the answer only next week" The olive-skinned woman looked at him. "I did at first, but I am satisfied with the talk we had this morning, I vouch for the man." the Commissioner finished. "Commissioner, the man had just arrived, give him some time to acclimate, they will have time to talk about work later. Anyway, I needed you for a couple of moments" the billionaire said ominously. "Good to have you aboard, Adam." the Captain said. "Do any of you want any more drinks before it will be too late?" the young version of the billionaire asked. Helena, although I thought her plan went up in flames, acted as if everything was still going according to plan and volunteered to accompany him to the bar. "Come on, let's get to know eachother" the hazel eyed Captain said to me, as they walked away.

"That was very impressive" Dick said. "Thank you, but you had to discover it sooner or later" Helena returned. "Do you know what gave it away?" the dark-haired man asked the brunette with the silver eyes. "You either met Ethan before, both of you. Or maybe I didn't act bratty enough" she replied him. "Good guess, it was the first one. Bruce and I met Ethan two days ago in Paris to discuss some business. And he was complaining how the french police refused to release his towed car, that was some really good information. Your brother wasn't a jerk enough I have to tell you. It looks a bit like an oversight I think to miss our meeting with Ethan, you should ask your employers to give you better intelligence in the future" Helena smirked, "I'm not an industrial spy or anything, and don't start with the Russian surname jokes. No this was just for fun. The real Ethan was bitching about the car on social media, but there was nothing about any meeting" Helena said in a seductive voice, always working her prey. "I see..." the blue-eyed man said captivated by her silvery gaze. "Well, you can be really good at this. What was your plan then, I mean, why would you do it? It could be risky if you fell on someone else." he continued as they near the bar. Helena just shrugged her shoulders in return "Get a billionaire sugar daddy? I don't know, I just saw an opportunity and went with it, there was no real plan" she said as she took the drink the bartender brought her. "Besides, no plan survives the point of contact." She finished while taking a small sip from her drink, slowly making sure his blue eyes watch her every movement. "So... you like birds?" she asked him, in the now setting sunlight.
