You knock on the door. "Madison? Please, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry. Are you okay?"

You hear nothing but sobbing through the door. "I'm worried about you..." you admit. "I'm coming in, okay? are you decent?"

"Mmm hmm"

You open the door and see Madison sitting on her bed, head in her hands. By the dim light of her room, you see her smile as you come into her room. She raises her arms for you to hug her.

You hold her tight as she sobs once more, resting her head on your shoulder.

"You don't have to tell me anything, okay? I just wanna make sure you're alri-"

"No, I want to tell you." She interrupts. "I didn't know what to do, and I didn't want to burden you with my problems. I-I just ... I need a minute, okay?"

"You're not a burden, okay? I'm here to help, okay? I promise."

She smiles as she breaks away from you, and you sit on her bed next to each other. There's a long silence, but it doesn't seem awkward to you. You don't mind just being near her, no matter what you're doing.
