Yes!

“Yes!”, I quickly replied.
“I knew you were going to resist... wait, did you say yes?”
“I will talk, yes!”
“Oh...”, the orc woman said, confused.

She clearly did not expect me to give in so easily, but truth be told, I feared for Korant and my own well-being.

“Tell me about Astranaar. Is it fortified? How many guards are there? What are their weapons and tactics?”
“Astranaar is not fortified, but they have a couple of towers and plenty of guards. They use bows and swords mostly, and they are very skilled. There are dozens and dozens of guards... probably a hundred, maybe more.”
“And the locals? The civilians? How many of them are there?”
“I don’t know for sure, but I would say around a few hundred.”

She nodded, still confused, but more satisfied than not. I had given them some information, but I intentionally left out the important bits. Needless to say, I did exaggerate the size of Astranaar’s garrison, too. There was no chance a small war band like this would take the town if they believed the garrison was at least a hundred strong.

“Well, well, looks like we have a clever one here. It was smart of you to tell us what you know, little human.”

The orc woman snapped her fingers and the orc behind me released the lock on the pillory. I stumbled out, rubbing my neck where the pillory had locked. I was relieved to be free so quickly from this confined space.

“What are you going to do with me? And my friend?”, I asked, trying to sound confident.
