Years later... At War With Apokolips

"Incoming!" The voice seemed body-less, though Diana heard it clearly. She saw the red streak fly pass her, and felt the air rush into her face. "On it, Barry." She said, sword gripped tightly in her right hand, shield held securely in her left. "Come on you Bastards!" She shouted watching the Parademons zoom towards her, Diana quickly counted, 6 of them, one of her... This would be easy. The Parademons flew passed her and as they did Diana sliced, once, twice, three times, her sword cutting through them like they were butter. She turned and saw the fallen Parademons topple to the floor. Their comrades turning, ignoring the Scarlet Speedster and focusing now, on the Amazonian Princess.

They raced at her, one sliced at her face with it's razor sharp claws, an attack easily deflected by Diana's shield. Another flew low, jaw open wide to bite at her calf, a single downward strike with her sword and it's head rolled to the ground. The final Parademon threw it's whole body at her, trying to grab Wonder Woman, she kicked out, hitting the Demon in the stomach, sending it flying backwards through a wall. Wonder Woman turned her attention back to the Demon she had hit with her shield... It was gone. Her eyes darted the streets of Metropolis, demons were everywhere, heroes stood defending the city. She saw Superman, wrestling thirteen Demons at once, Cyborg shooting Parademons out of the sky, Batman in his fighter jet aiding Hal and Martian Manhunter in defending the skies. Even people like John Constantine and Swamp Thing had noted the importance of the fight and were doing all they could in the battle. It was then she saw him; Steppenwolf, The general of the Parademon army.

Steppenwolf was about 200 feet away, and locked in combat with a demonic looking 'hero', with green skin and glowing red eyes. Giving out a loud battle cry, Wonder Woman lunged towards Steppenwolf, leaping the gap between them like it was nothing. Her blade came down on his armored forearm, extended in a block. The alien general gave her a cocky smirk before pushing her back, sending her skidding several feet backwards. "Greetings comrade, Etrigan thanks you for coming to his aid." The demon spoke to Diana, she wondered if he meant the rhyme or if it had happened on accident. "The Wonder Woman." Steppenwolf began. "Darkseid has a place for you my dear. Among the obsessed." Diana gripped her sword tighter. "Your master will get nothing from me. EXCEPT YOUR HEAD!" She cried and sliced at the monstrous man before her.

Steppenwolf moved back, the blade swung inches from where his abdomen had been moments earlier. "Do you think they will mourn you, when you die? These people who you protect so ferociously." Diana narrowed her eyes. "I will not die this day." Diana swung again, unleashing a chain of angry slices towards her enemy. "Though the same cannot be said about YOU!" She shouted. Etrigan lept from the shadows, and grabbed Steppenwolf from behind, perching on his back. "You would do well to heed her warning..." Etrigan began. "... If you do not, it shall be YOU, whom _your _people are mourning." Steppenwolf reached behind him, grabbing hold of Etrigan's cape and yanked him, throwing the demon soaring into the air where he was caught by a swarm of Parademons.

"Poor. Little. Amazon." Steppenwolf began moving towards Wonder Woman, who cut through the air with her sword, but every attack was blocked and parried by Steppenwolf. "No backup." He said, Diana was moving backwards now. "No allies." She brought the sword down towards him, but he caught it by the blade, squeezing it and ripping it away from her and tossing it aside. "No weapons." Diana grabbed her lasso from her hip and tried to wrap it around her attacker. "No hope." He said, easily deflecting the lasso. Wonder Woman lept backwards, trying to get out of harms way, but was caught by her throat by Steppenwolf. She tried to fight against him, tried to break out of his grip, but couldn't. "No armor." Steppenwolf grabbed her armor by the chest plate and ripped it off like it was tin foil. Diana's bare skin was revealed to the cold night air. Her eyes filled with fear for the first time at the prospect of what he was going to do to her. Steppenwolf grabbed her lasso and quickly tied her with it. Dropping her he barked commands to his nearby Parademons. "We have plans for you... Little Amazon."
