Chapter 4 by Joseph Nantz Joseph Nantz

What's next?

Yaz to the... Rescue?

A trumpeting noise began to fill the room as a large blue box appeared near the entrance. The Master began to hop up and down in glee before she reminded herself to stay calm and keep up appearances.

Yasmin Khan stepped out of the TARDIS and looked around confused. The Daleks and the Cybermen were still here, and that was the Master, but... trapped in a cage? Defeated? Is that why the Doctor looked so happy?

All of a sudden, the Doctor ran forward and clamped her in a hug!

"Oh, Yaz, you're just in time! I managed to disable those pesky not-robots and trap the Master in his own plot!"

"Doctor, how did you do all that?"

"I'll explain later." The blonde woman kissed Yaz on the cheek, then stepped toward the TARDIS. Sensing Yaz wasn't following her, she turned around and said "Yaz? Aren't you coming?"

Yaz stared at the woman in disbelief. Then she looked back at the Master, crumbled in a cage. Then around at the Daleks and Cybermen. The Doctor wouldn't just leave them all here, would she? And the kiss... as many times as she had fantasized, the Doctor had never done anything like that.

"You're not the Doctor, are you?"

The Master frowned, then smiled. "Ooh, new face!" She frowned again. "I get to try all sorts of expressions!" She pulled several more faces before saying "Though it's not as fun without a mirror."

"Who are you?" Asked Yaz, shaking and backing up. She barely even noticed when she bumped into a Cyberman who grabbed her shoulders.

"Oh, come on Yazzy-poo. Don't you recognise me? And after all that flirting at Barton's birthday party. I thought I made an impression."

A pause. A horrified, dawning realisation.

"The Master."

The Master shot her with finger guns. "Right on the money!"

"So you've stolen the Doctor's face. Now what's your brilliant plan?"

"Oh, I'm going to destroy her reputation. Because I've got more than her face." She took a step toward Yaz. "I've got her TARDIS." Another step. And as she reached a hand out to delicately stroke Yaz's cheek, "And I've got you."

She ran across to the middle of the room. "Just one problem, here! Every new Doctor needs a new outfit. I may look the same, but there's a whole new personality buzzing around in here!" She shrugged off the coat. "A same face doesn't have to mean the same outfit."
