Wow, it added foreshadowing all on it's own. My new problem as the 'author' I have no bloody idea what this "rumor" might be!

As the night falls, the forest becomes a place of dread. The rustling of leaves becomes the sound of something stalking through the underbrush, and the howls of distant animals sound like a warning to those who dare to venture into the darkness. The trees are ancient and gnarled, their twisted branches forming shadowy, grasping hands that seem to reach for unwary travelers.

Jake sits, still as a statue, with his eyes fixed on the surrounding trees. His aura of power is so overwhelming that even the forest seems to shrink away from him. To Jake, the trees are nothing compared to the predators he's faced in his long life. The aura he emits is the mark of an apex predator, a warning to all other creatures that he is not to be trifled with.

In his mind, Jake weighs the rumors he's heard about the goblins in the cave. It could be nothing, just idle gossip among the locals. But if there's even a chance that the rumors are true, then Sarah could be walking into a trap. He considers waking her up and telling her, but ultimately decides against it. He trusts her abilities, and he knows that she wouldn't want to be seen as weak by relying on him for help.

As the night wears on, Jake remains vigilant, his aura keeping all other predators at bay. The forest may be full of terrors, but to Jake, they are nothing compared to the danger that Sarah may face in the cave.

((Author's note: Aaaand that's where I get kicked off for too many questions in 1 hour. I'm actually a little lost as to what rumor he could possibly have heard that makes a goblin clan so dangerous! (yes I've seen Goblin Slayer, please don't hate, I do take the little buggers seriously)))
